From February 20 to March 14 this year, I added my entire inventory of common extras, Phillies extras (which are really mostly more commons), and HOFer / Stars / Favorites extras. It was a total of over 93,000 cards. And I was able to do that in just a touch over 3 weeks time.
It all comes down to the tools we now have available for entering collection information. While the old check box method ("Add / Update" from the Collection Summary page) is nice and all, we also have "Add by Card Number" and "Add Multiples (Textboxes)". I used all 3 methods, depending on how many cards I had in a set and how many of each card.
I just wanted everyone to understand that what used to seem like such a daunting task on here (and 10 years ago, it would have taken me a year to do this) is just not the case anymore. Admin has heard our grumblings, complaints, and listened to our suggestions. We now have tools that fit any collection, even if our collections change set by set (or even within sets - I found myself using a couple different methods on various sections of sets in some cases). I was also able to discern the VARs very easily (well, on here, some of the Fleer U.S.A. vs U.S.A differences on thr cards required my phone's camera to be zoomed 4x to view them), but I did catalog the VARs properly. For now, I have it all listed as "collection" information in 3 separate collections (for my own purposes). After I have been able to cross-check my collection with these (and I already found a few cards I wanted hiding out in my commons boxes), I'll be "flipping the switch" on the 3 collections to move them all to the FS/FT classification.
So, for anybody with any size collection (or inventory, as I have been referring to this portion of my "collection"), it's not that tough to get it loaded here. I just added 93,000+ cards in 23 days. If anyone has specific questions about the process, feel free to ask here (or email if you're more comfortable with that). I'd enjoy sharing methods, tips, and tricks to help everyone.

Dan, thanks for mentioning that "Add by Card Number" option. I never noticed that before and went to check it out. Looks like it is a nice option that I will have to take advantage of in the future.

Props to you! I have been doing the same using the various methods as well. If I have a lot of dupes I find text box entry easier. If I am adding Topps Flagship I do check boxes since I mostly have singles. I've just cracked into some of my old ones to index. The ones I am not looking forward to are the binders that have sheets of my favorite players. There are dozens of different flavors in there to navigate.
I have enjoyed the community as well.

I echo Tcastle's thanks about add by card number. I'd never seen/utilized that function before.
It seems the underlying principle in being able to add so many cards in a short amount of time is to have everything organized by set and card number. Any tips on how to quickly add large collections where the cards are sorted by player rather than by set?

I have cards both in sets and grouped as players. What's the quickest way to add cards by player? Would like to use a card number option, but I don't think there is one. It would be nice when you "Add/Update" by player, that there would be a filter box at the top just to look up by card number, which is the most common way to search without having to go back to the Filter page every time for every card. I know, it sound like a New Feature to add...I submitted it a while ago, but got no response. Maybe someone else on here has better influence to get this added than I do...

Great questions - and 1 of the collections I added were sorted by player - but the cards are sorted by year / company / insert name within each player.
While in that collection, I clicked on the Add/Update button, then the sport, Names, letter of the last name, (Ctrl-F to find name or scroll), click the player's name, then under "Cards" click "Add/Update".
Then, if it was a player that I had a lot of cards from early in their career, I would simply go through them page by page adding (click the down arrow for 3 or more, using "Add Multiple", for 1, click the box, for 2, click the box and then click the down arrow and "Add Another to Collection").
If these were the more recent players with 10K or more cards, I clicked on the Filters link and filtered by the card number.
I used the "Add by Card Number" when I had only a handful of cards for a set or when I was doing the Phillies extras because I only had 20-35 cards per set - and after you enter the card numbers, it gives you the textbox approach to edit the amounts of each card. (The biggest drawback on this one was insert sets and update sets with the letter/number combos in "Card Number", since I am not a touch typist that would take me too long to use. I tended to lean toward "Add Multiples (Textboxes)" for those even if I only had 1 of each of most of the cards.)

I recently added a Brooks Robinson collection that I acquired. The best way I found was to organize the cards by year and then sets within each year. Then when I used the add/update function from the player page is was “relatively” easy to go through in order and select the check boxes for the cards I had. Still a bit time consuming for players with lots of parallels (or cards you have a hard time identifying which set they are from), but not horrible.

If you only click a single checkbox after using the filter, using the back button in your browser will take you back to the filters page. (If you used the "Add Multiple" or anything that required going to a new page, this is not convenient and it's easier just to hit the Filters link at the top of the page again.)

I love it... a complaint/pet peeve of mine (and it is not a big one) is the extra effort to add in multiples. Drop down > add multiples > type in number or drop down > drop down change (if needed from collection to for sale/trade) > back to collection summary/checklist. This is based off the adding in a card to a fresh empty checklist is sooooo easy, that all other actions seem like a bunch of extra clicks and or journeys to other screens.
I wish there was a better UI/UX for entering in multiples. For the life of me i cant think of how to present that so it would make sense. I think almost buttons of +1 to collection +1 to for sale + 1 to waitlist and so on. Ideally when you already have the card added to a state, you can easily add another rather than a journey via drop down. I would still include the drop down for edit details and add multiples, but personal preference for me is to push a button 3 times to add 1 each time rather than 3 clicks or a screen journey that takes me to a different screen and back.
I worry this might put a lot in the line of a card in the checklist summary, but there is a lot of real estate and unused space in the right side of the screen so that maybe the middle component could be widened.

I've tried and why i stopped entering on here is because if i would need to fulfill an order or trade i haven't the clue as to where i can print out (with inventory location) and pull the cards. Currently or at least the last time i tried, i had to click on every card to see where it was located 200 times. If there was a way that it could be easily printed I'm bringing it ALL here 4+ million strong!
