Hope Spaz doesn't read this thread. Someone's going to get a lecture.

Guess I'll have to create a back for my "card" I've been toying with that Idea. I even sketched a cartoon caricature (looks nothing like me but is slightly inspired by the The Shlabotnik Report blog character). I drew it in pencil need to "ink" it probably in the photoshopping process it also needs to be scanned. (then probably shrunk quite a bit when I make the back of the card. I actually want to reverse it because I think it would look better facing the other way from how I drew it. It is supposed to be "me" holding a fan/hand of cards.
I also need to redo my card front. It was done well... I sort of explained it on my blog here, and on my first two blog posts. It was freestyle and it is filled with edge trimming flaws. I think I got the font OK probably not an exact match and I didn't note which font name I used. I probably should do that when working with fonts in pics but never do. I probably should hunt down the template that Topps has maybe.

Actually, I want to add to the hi-jack! I've been looking for the UNO "The Simpson's" (TV show) deck for a couple of years. If anyone has one they want to get rid of, contact me.
As for the real topic, I still have no interest in making my own business cards. I have a pretty big footprint in the online trading world and rarely ever sell cards. If I were going to sell lots of my stuff, then I would create a card. When I was in high school though, I did draw up my own sports card for baseball, basketball and football. I still have those drawings around here somewhere. I kind of wish I had stuck with that pattern and continued on after high school. If I had, I could possibly be designing the cards we now collect and trade. I can guarantee that the backs would have STATS, instead of a few sentences about a player.

I would hope the cards would have stats AND a line or two about weach player (and not the same line or two each year - yes, I'm looking at you, Donruss of the 1980s).

1. I want to put my face on one of those soccer game cards.
2. Which version of Washington Senators does the Captain's card go with?
3. Can we NOT put scans of the Simpsons Uno cards on this site if Spaz ever finds them?
4. I gotta go, or I'll miss my train to the baseball card shop. I never thought I would be saying that!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

To further the hijacking, a few years ago when I was coaching I used this template (web address is on the bottom of the "card" to create one of these for each player, and then blew them up to 8x10 for each player/family. Here is my boy going 1st to 3rd.

PB won't allow 3rd Party Hosting anymore unless you pay them for it. I switched to flickr after PB did that.

For #3, I won't put them on here b/c I won't be trading them! If I find an unopened box, it will stay unopened. It will go on a shelf with other Simpsons collectibles. After my sports cards and memorabilia, The Simpsons is my next largest collection of stuff (unless you count DVD's & VHS tapes).

That's cool. One of my best friends has an amazing Ghostbusters collection, and none of it is opened. I personally want to see and touch my stuff (did that sound weird?), but I get it. He also has reserved one of his arms specifically for Ghostbusters tattoos, while the other can have anything.
