Card Identification Forum

Hey everyone!

I picked up a case of 2018 Topps WWE Heritage a few days ago and I'm entering in my cards to my collection now. This one is stumping me though!

The CTM-BS matches the TLC Commemorative Medallion Relics found here but I noticed the only card pictured in this set is numbered out of 199 and does not include a mat relic with it like mine. Also mine is numbered out of 50. All the other parallels don't have one that matches 50 so not sure if it's a medallion relic. 

Any thoughts what this card is?

Try the blue medallion set, tab says SN25 yet only picture uploaded shows card out of 50 like yours, problem is your card looks like base relic which is out of 199 as card below is all blue

I don't think yours is any of those. Yours is Medallion and Mat Relic.  Even the Topps website doesn't mention these.  And since the Medallion checklist and the Mat checklist aren't identical to each other, who knows if this checklist parallels either of those.  It wasn't a store exclusive by chance, was it?  Sometimes Topps puts the checklist on the side of the box for store exclusives.

Hmmm not really sure about the store exclusive. I opened it from a hobby box that I picked up in a case that included 12 hobby boxes from an eBay seller. Are store exclusives sold as hobby boxes? Maybe my case was a store exlusive case. Either way, finding a card that's hard to identify is pretty exciting! 

I'll set up an eBay saved search for mat and medallion cards from this set. See if I can find more!

As of right now I see a few cards online that match this one.

Is it possible the TCDB is missing a set from the dropdown list that is TLC Medallion and Mat Relics #/50?

Yes, there's no question in my mind we don't have the set here in IMDB.  I see now that you mentioned buying a case.  I overlooked that detail the first time. Eventually I'm sure somebody will piece together a checklist. Meanwhile, you have a really cool Braun Strowman card!

Is it possible that the set has a mat relic variation + medallion SN50 and a non mat-relic / medallion SN199 version for each card?

After giving it more thought, I would think it's more likely a parallel of the Mat set than of the Medallion set.  My logic is that the 10 guys in the Mat set were the guys in the two main matches at the PPV that the Mat came from (the 8 from that awful TLC match, plus AJ & Finn), while the larger Medallion set includes guys who weren't even on the PPV.

Oh wow Darrell.  I had to read it twice to see it.  I guess I use that site a lot too.  But it's funny enough, I will leave it rather than correct it.  Maybe some others will get a good laugh too!
