Are you looking at the hologram logo on the back side of the card? That is what the difference is.

If you look at the holo on the back on both the sets pictured in TCDB they look the same to me. I just got a couple in a trade and it they both have upper deck written in the holo just like the base cards I already have

I've found some accidentally by using a magnifying glass. I was trying to read something in fine print and remembered a VAR discussion about UD holos so I pulled a few and there is a difference. As far as I recall this is the only difference, everything else on the card should match.

I just recieved a 1991 Upper Deck Football Barry Sanders #444 with the 90s Baseball Hologram. I purchased the card hoping it was the 1990 Hologram, buy when it showed up it was the baseball hologram. I was pretty happy to get it, I never knew it existed with the baseball hologram.

I found this old thread on the topic. Go to the third page of the thread to find a clear visual of the differrent holograms.

Exactly.... You are right. There are (supposed to be) baseballs . In hand they are not too hard to see. However scanning them is an entirely new ballgame... The words upper and deck are still there in the foreground as well but four to six baseballs should be present in the background while you change the angle of the card in the light. Hope this helps.
I believe this is the set to which you are referring...

Most of the images are not very discerning and I'll have to double check but I think a few of them are definitely not the "baseball holograms" at all.

Thanks for all the info. I took a closeup photo with flash and was able to see somethings. I guess we'll call them orbs.
