Card Identification Forum

I have recently acquired the attached card that is not listed in the database.

A bit of research has shown the full checklist for the five card set is:

#1 Michal Jordan PR1000

#2 Larry Bird PR1000

#3 Magic Johnson PR1000

#4 Hakeem Olajuwon PR1000

#5 Charles Barkley PR1000

These are listed on COMC as 1991-92 Star Promo Set Gold. However, I see we have individual player promo sets from Star that carry the same 1991 copyright info as listed as just 1991 Star Promo sets.

Before I make a checklist I would like to confirm what the correct year would be. 

In case he doesn't see post message vrooomed. He worked for Star.

These are not promos from the Gold Series, but looks to be a completely separate issue. This is proof yet again that I didn't see every card that passed through (as this card does not look familiar). 

Being that it has 1990-91 stats it must be 1991-92. NBA sets should never just be one year. Interesting also that it doesn't have the H he added to his name.

Cool, so go 1991-92 for the year then. Do the other single player promo sets already listed here as 1991 need to be changed then?

As Dan mentions these are not promos for the gold series — I am assuming the "Gold" notation is just used as that is the border colour.

If these were not to be called "Gold" then any other ideas on a specific name beyond "1991-92 Star Promo"?

The only other common feature beyond the gold border is the "Career Stats" notation but I would imagine we wouldn't want that in the set name.

As to the lack of H, March 1991 is when he changed his name from Akeem to Hakeem and it looks like cards made the switch as well for the 1991-92 major releases. One assumes this promo must have been made earlier in the year.

I would suggest "1991-92 Star Career Stats Promos"

Agreed - And then we can add to the Release Notes about the color of the cards.

Edit: Checklist created. Though I can not figure out how to add the relase note to state they have a gold border. If anyone can explain how to do that to me I will add the note in.
