I was going through my card stash some today, while watching the snow, and I pulled my first card of Rocket Richard AND I completed a NASCAR set I've been working on since 1994! (when it came out). Both of these cards have been in my possesion since 2019, but I didn't open the NASCAR packs until today, and I didn't look through the hockey cards either. It's not a playing career card of Richard, but he was one of the biggest names missing from my hockey collection...actually, THE biggest. Ever since I began delving into the sport's history there are some names that have stood out as cards I needed to get, and in fact, he was the only 500 goal scorer in NHL history that was not in my collection...until now!
My #1 most wanted hockey person is Willie O'Ree...hopefully I can get a card of him before too long.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. To some people today might be known as Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year.
I just came in from outside shoveling some snow. The sun is shining. The temperature is about -7 Celcius. NO wind what so ever. Birds are coming and going from my feeders. For me today is VERY far from depressing. Great to be alive. After I post this I am going back outside to finish shovelling. Hope everyone is having a great day as well.

I got to take a mental break and open up some cheap unwanted junk I picked up while at the mall yesterday afternoon (I also restocked some supplies). I picked up 15 packs of 1990-91 Skybox basketball at 3packs for $1. So for $5 I got to open these up and remember some basketball players from that time. I also pulled Dominique Wilkins, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan (X2), Dennis Rodman, Tim Hardaway (R), Reggie Miller, Magic Johnson (X2), Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley and David Robinson cards. For me it was well worth the $5. They also had 6 rack packs of 1991 Fleer baseball that were 3 for $1. How could I not buy all 6? In those I pulled 6 pro-vision cards since they come one per rack pack and about 20 hall of fame cards. I found a couple hours of quiet fun, reflecting on the early 90's for $7.

I've never heard of Blue Monday before. I appreciate everyone who responds to this topic.
Opening some older packs from the 90's a great way to spend some quiet time fun.

First post on this thread, not because I never have anything to feel good about but because I am overall a content individual even through my ankle break (into week 8). But I thought I would use it to provide a bit of an update along with collecting news.
First and foremost, I am almost back on two solid feet. I am now walking around with an air boot without the use of crutches other than when I go up and down the stairs (more for safety than not being able to do without the crutches). I shoveled my girlfriend's driveway (twice) on the weekend, hobbling along wiht the air boot. No pain was experieinced during and after. I also got up on the tractor and snow-blowed my driveway. Getting up and down was the only real tricky part. I hope to start driving (testing it tomorrow) and to be back at work Monday (yes, though I retired almost 4 years ago, they asked me to come back - it more than funds this hobby). It reminded me of the farm when I grew up where as a pre-teen we drove tractors but were not legally allowed to drive cars.
And that leads to the good news in collecting. I just bought a shoebox full of wants from 1948 to 1976 plus two lots of 1981 and 1982 Topps stickers. I added cards to all the sets other than the 1950 Bowman and the 1954, 1958 and 1962 Topps sets. I now own some 1949 (6) Bowman cards including the Yogi Berra. My 1954 Bowman set is now at 50% (you can look at it as "missing" or "having") and my 1955 set is only 5 cards from 50% having. I also added cards to my 1952 thru 1976 Topps sets. Though I am very pleased with the cards I added, the best part is that the 1976 set is now complete (part of my 2020 goals) and the 1973 and 1974 sets are very close to complete (9 and 4 respectively). The only "big" card in those is the Schmidt RC from 1973. I also am near completing a second 1975 set (5 cards) (Why? because I already had one well on the go when I bought a complete set at auction). The biggest card missing is the #660 Aaron. The previous owner of this collection must have been a Yaz fan as I added several of his cards including his 1960 RC. Yaz was the most common name I saw in those cards I added.
Last night and this morning I finished sheeting the 1951-1955 Bowman cards. It really made me appreciate those vintage sets compared to when I sheet a modern day set. Yes some of the pockets may stay empty for some time but the cards, even the commons, are so much more fascinating than those of today. Back then, it truly was documenting history; today it is about gimmicks to sell more cards. But now I am turning negative so I will stop here.
Happy collecting to all!

Paid a visit to our local indoor acquatic facility today. Did my Tai Chi routine. Rode a stationary bike for about 20 minutes. Did a float about in the pool. Sat for 5 minutes or so in the hot tub. All in all a great Tuesday morning. I try and do this every Tuesday. For me, the best day of the week.

Sandyrusty Good to hear that your getting around better. Sorting vintage cards is always fun too.
Dicefoot That sound like great exercise. Especially the floating around part.

My good news is about a week late, but life's been really hectic lately for me.
My youngest daughter gave birth to her first baby last Tuesday, a boy, and both are healthy. He's our seventh grandchild overall and my two youngest are promising a few more - not anytime soon, but soon enough.
