First of all, congratulations to the Chiefs for a great comeback and win for the championship.
I had no vested interest in the game as I not only don't root for either team, but I don't watch the NFL. That penalty on the 3rd down incompletion should not have been called, plain and simple. Keep the flag in the pocket! Holding on pass routes or on interior blocks can be called just about every play; why then?
I will add that I was rooting for the Eagles as their coach's reaction during the national anthem stirred my soul. When the game doesn't involve a team I support I'll root for an underdog or find myself cheering for one side once the game starts due to something spurring me on during the game, but that's the first time a pre-game action caused me to put my apathy away.

They were screwed over with that flag. I'm not saying that without it they would've won, but I now understand a little bit more of the booing of the ref at kickoff. I can't deny that it was a great game all the way until the last 2 minutes though.

Seems they deviated from the script.

On the other side...if you dont want to get flagged...don't hold at a crucial spot!:)
No vested interest either. Great game.

Great game. I would say that, instead of blaming the ref on a single call, blame the Eagles 'vaunted' defense for not stopping a guy with a banged up ankle. I don't think the Chiefs ever punted in the game. That's the problem right there, not one call.

The call didn't change the fact that KC was going to score. What it changed is how much time the Eagles had to repond. They would have had a few plays, not 1. That could've at least given them the chance to tie the game with a FG. But, that all didn't happen, and the Chiefs won.
Congrats to the Chiefs and I'm happy for those who root for the Chiefs.
And yes, Coach Sirianni is a class act. (I think Coach Reid is as well.)

I didn't have a rooting interest but I feel that flag at the end was a terrible penalty. Most likely KC would have kicked a field goal but I though that was a 3rd down penalty (going by memory). If that is correct I think Philadelphia would have had 1:30-2:00 to try to drive the field for a game tying field goal or game winning touchdown. As minor as the infraction looked it had a major impact on the outcome.

I agree, Ron, but my point is basically that the play was borderline and in those situations you only call blatant/flagrant calls in my opinion.
I also agree, Evan, how can you be fooled twice on the same play on opposite sides of the line for TDs, but as Dan pointed out the complexion of the game changed 100% with that one call.

My Beloved Wife Suzannah, just mentioned the "turf issues" again, just a few minutes ago. What was up with the bad turf, so many change out of cleats and several plays where the players just slipped on the playing surface?? The issue equally affects both Teams, but should not better be expected for this grandiose sporting Event?? Just wondering . . .
