Wow first time i met Toby Kieth was in 1996. ( before he became a super star). I was working with Halliburton out if Snyder Tx and was sent to Midland Tx south on HWY 349 (North of Rankin Tx) on a FWA drilling rig. We just finished the job and he was singing on the rig floor. I said you have a darn good voice have you thought about it professionally? He said ya i have a few songs on the radio but nothing has made it big yet. I thought to myself sure. Then when the Dixie girls ( refuse to say the real name) started their BS) and saw an interview with him in his normal voice i told my wife i know this guy she didn’t believe me but after he confirmed he worked on drilling rigs south of midland Tx 1990-1998 she looked at me in disbelief

Pouring one out from my red solo cup. Toby, we'll miss you wandering the sidelines at OU football games.

This is how I was introduced to Toby Keith.
Rest in peace, Mr. Keith.

This saddens me. I am not a big country music fan, but I truly liked his music. He put on a great concert. When I am in Vegas this weekend, I am gonna go and visit his bar if it still there and open. You will be missed sir, thank you for the great music and for being a great human being.
