I try not to higlight every death I see on the site, but Bob Watson was a great player and a trailblazing executive, along with being the MLB discipline guy. And he had so many cards with those great 70s Astros uniforms.

My condolences to his family, friends, and fans. (I'm pointing at you, Sportzcommish)

He was the first black American GM in MLB with Houston. Moved to New York because his wife couldn't handle allergy season down here in Texas, and became a World Series winning GM with the Yankees.

He was recently voted as the second best Astros first baseman behind Bagwell and in front of the Big Bopper Glenn Davis.

He knew how to hit and obviously knew the game well enough to get into the front office.

Very under-rated ballplayer. May he RIP.

He platooned with Jim Spencer at fisrt base with the Yankees in them early eighties teams. He was a really underrated player for them. And, later won a world series as the GM for them. RIP

To add as an edit, I think he's one of the few players to hit for the cycle in both leagues. Maybe someone here can correct me on that.
