switz, you gotta remind me what I did that irritated you. I'm starting to lose track...
For the record, I work with people throughout the world and have never voted for Trump, just in case that matters on a freakin card forum.
Addressing a few things:
-- Although I'm on Mark's "s" list too, I agree about the "point farmer" thing.
-- The L8s have enough experience and guidance (through Admin and sharing info/tips with each other) to know what works best to keep things organized and easy to find, including Release Notes, cross-linking when identical sets are distributed in multiple places, etc., and here's a friendly reminder posted in the FAQs:
Every effort should be made to list inserts under the sets into which they were inserted, even if the design matches or is a continuation of a different release. This applies to previews (sometimes previews of one release are inserted into packs of a different release), stamped buybacks, and updates.
The questions and comments about the various food sets don't apply since it's one set distributed among various products within the one brand (e.g. Kraft). Adding notes to Note2 to let users know which product/brand had that particular card is the best way to go (and we've tried to do that on other sets like Hostess where possible), and there isn't any consideration being given to split these up by product. If there was an independent Kraft set the following year, or a set that was distributed in frozen pizza only with no other brands/products tied to it, that's where we have a separate set. Now you might be asking, "Ed, what about that recent reorganization of the 1996-97 Upper Deck Kraft set that was changed to inserts only?" On that one, it was multiple unnumbered mini-sets, some being discs instead of rectangles, but the entirety was marketed by Kraft as one set release. If these were all consecutively numbered, where #1-10 was one product, #11-20 was another product, etc., they would've appeared as one checklist and noted with the product of release. If they were all marketed as separate releases, they would've been listed here as separate sets. If you see sets that aren't like this, it's likely they just haven't been updated or refreshed recently ... there are hundreds of thousands of sets on here.
Now, back to this 1986 Donruss set that started it all. 1985 Donruss started doing box bottom cards, and the first few were #PC1-PC3. 1986 Donruss, a completely separate release, we got #PC4-PC6. This is no different than all the Upper Deck "Heroes" series that were spread over multiple years, or one of their inserts like "Hometown Heroes" where #HH1-HH28 were in 2005-06, #HH29-HH56 were in 2006-07, and so on. What caused confusion here is that Donruss also put out an "All-Stars/Pop-Ups" set in cello packs and those boxes gave us #PC7-PC9. This set is independent from the flagship release. There were no cello packs in 1986 Donruss, and all wax boxes had #PC4-PC6 only. 1987 Donruss gave us #PC-10 through #PC-12, and 1987 Donruss All-Stars/Pop-Ups gave us the last batch, #PC-13 through #PC-15. The 1985 group and the two 1987 groups are separated out, but the two 1986 groups were combined. All I'm requesting is to split these and put #PC7-PC9 in the set where they belong.
It's in Admin's hands if he wants to break the cross-link from All-Stars/Pop-Ups over to flagship to allow me to proceed with organizing the sets. The outrage and throwing other example sets into this wasn't needed, but Bruno doesn't like me, and I'm not surprised there was a response this morning.
