Just picked this set up today. I don't do shortprints on principle. If Topps is going to make all the fun Hall of Famer cards short prints, they've already lost someone who just got into these sets. Too bad.

I'm sorry to hear that for you. Topps lost me as soon as they got the MLB exclusive license! Every Topps MLB card I have since 2011 was given to me or I traded for it b/c it was a Cardinals card. I was sick of Topps' antics BEFORE they got the exclusive deal and that deal made them even worse. There is no sense in having SP's that sometimes number in the hundreds for any given set and the same goes for having 20 different versions of the same card. I really hope things change drastically before the current MLB contract ends!

Yeah, if they keep it up, it will swing my view back to preferring to pay $30 for one vintage card over paying $30 for 300 modern ones. Hard to build a big collection that I can wallow in for hours that way, though.

At least they dropped the sparkles this year.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Yes, the shortprints in the Heritage set are enough to discourage me from collecting them. You get the feeling no one in the Topps company is an actual card collector.

Kaline6 - I've had that feeling since the early '90s.

The only way Topps will make any xchanges is if they hear from the collectors reminding Topps without the collectors they have little income and they will lose a great part of their product line in terms of bottom line. But Topps must hear from the collectors right now, Topps listens to the delaers instead of the collectors I have been writing letter to Tops a couple of years now and I never hear from them this tells me they don't care because one letter or a few hunred letters does nothing but thousands do open doors, even if we do an open boycott on Topps products we the collectors will hurt before Topps does.

Exclusivity deals suck, trust me, i'm a hockey fan and I'm fed up with Upper Deck. I miss Panini and wish Leaf had full rights

You beat me to the punch mbarlow!! I hate the state of the hockey industry, Upper Deck controls everything including price. UGH. I miss Panini too as I actually prefered their products. Guess maybe that's why I quit buying hobby boxes. Last ones I got were from the wife last christmas. Will stick to just collecting my Ranfords again.

I'd rather spend my money on real high-number short printed vintage cards--even if they're only commons. Right now, I'm chugging through the high-number '67s (missing 81) and '66s (missing 52).
Regardless, it's still Topps over the competition when it comes to baseball.
