1971 Milk Duds - Boxes Baseball Forum

I really hate to be that guy but I have to ask two questions.  First off what is up with the numbering in this set?  It looks like they should be NNO but they look odd having numbers but listed in alphabetical order, with multiple people having the same number.

The bigger question that will likely cause a debate, why is the whole carton shown?  I'm okay with the fact they are on the site, but shouldn't it just be card itself, not the whole carton?  Also, shouldn't the back scan be the back of the card?  I'm just thinking out loud but the Little Debbie Presidential cards don't scan the whole box, just where the card is, so shouldn't that be the same here?

No disrespect to whoever added the scans, but I think this needs to be addressed before other similar sets are added and some think this is the norm.  Just my two cents.

Scans aren't really my forte when it comes to issues like this, so I'm no help on the second one. However, regarding the numbers, I do see a (very) small number on the tab above the player's head on the front, so I'm guessing that's where the card numbers came from. Again, not sure if this is correct (and they are very small) but that would be my guess to number one.

I just sent an IR to Admin about this set.  We don't put whole package images just the cards.  We don't have whole boxes of Jello, Post Cereal, Bazooka gum, Hostess, Drake's, milk cartons, wax boxes, blaster boxes, ice cream, Kraft Mac & Cheese.

I do see the numbering now, but I would think that would have to do more with the packaging since its not on the actual card, but good eye.  I still think they should be NNO though.

Also thanks C2Cigars.  I wasn't sure if I missed something recently that allowed them all, so that's why I posted here first.  Just wanted to nip this before it got out of hand.

That would be a nice collection of boxes to have though! Wow.

I agree with the NNO side; the numbers listed do not seem to be specific to the players and probably are random within a given range.

I'm with Chuck (and David). These are awesome. If I had them, there is no way I would cut the cards out; I would keep the boxes intact. But, this is not a box collecting database. So, eventhough they are awesome, I don't think they belong here.

They just need to be cropped to just the card. And the actually back images need to uploaded.  It's fine the collector doesn't want to cut them off the box. Just don't upload the whole box images.

And the variations need to be removed.  They're based on the little number on the box flap.
