Pitchers for four of the five 2018 NL playoff teams have incorrect career WHIP and ERA totals in 2019 Topps Series 1. Seventeen cards have this error (all the Dodgers, Rockies, Brewers, and Cubs who pitched primarily in MLB in 2018). I imagine it's not a coincidence that these are the four teams who played the two tiebreaker games on 10/1/2018. In making the calculations for career WHIP and ERA, innings pitched in 2018 were not counted in the denominators, inflating their career totals.

I wonder if they will correct them

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I gotta ask, did you figure this out, or did you read this somewhere. Impressive investigative work by the way if you did! I also wonder if they will correct this in the factory set and then my set will be listed as 'incomplete' with the new base and master set listings...

I can't claim full credit. I saw a tweet a few days ago (wish I remember from whom) that pointed out the 0.00 WHIPs for 2018 for Hader and Hill and mentioned that Hader's career ERA was (impossibly) higher than any one season. So I looked through a few 2019 cards I've picked up and noticed a couple others, like Kershaw and Jansen, were the same. So I played around with excel for a bit and figured out the patterns.
I haven't checked the SP variations yet or any of the RCs that list minor league stats on the back.

I haven't looked at the cards themselves yet, but will somebody go back in and add UER to these cards with an explanation? Once the factory sets come out, we can check to see if they corrected the issue. Will be easier to verify if we know all of the cards that were errors.

Please enter IRs for each card. That would expedite the process.

Seaver78 might be the only one who can. He calculated all of this himself. Topps may not even know about it

I added the UER tags and explanations on Tuesday.
https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ChangeLog.cfm?SetID=182808
The "UER" tags show up in the checklist view but the cards are not included on the errors/variations page. Let me know if I've entered anything incorrectly.
Thanks,
Josh

UERs do NOT show up on the ERR/VAR page. Admin removed them a while ago.
Go to the Glossary for that set (any set that has UERs), click on the UER entry - there's your list of UERs!
