1994 Pro Line Live Football Forum

Does anyone know anything about 1994 Cowboys Pro Line Live Kroger Stickers? They come in groups of 3, with a white tab at top showing week distributed and 99¢. Beckett has them listed to #7, but I have a week #7 strip with Alvin Harper (the last sticker listed in Beckett), Willie Jackson and Jay Novacek. Many more stickers/coupons are available on COMC.

I finally managed to get a hit on Newspapers.com.  A full page Kroger add in the Tuesday, September 13, 1994, Paris News, from Paris, Texas, mentions the stickers.  That week's stickers were listed as Troy Aikman, Darren Woodson and Erik Williams.  I will see if there was a weekly ad in the Paris News and post the names for each week as I find them.  The dates are just the days I found the ad in the paper.  The stickers were usually just available for that week.

I didn't find actual ads naming the players for Weeks 4-6, but eBay listings lined up with what I'd found in the papers, so I think this is the complete set. I found references to these as far north as Parsons, Kansas.

I may actually have them, but can't locate them presently. 

Does the ad say if it came with a display board of sorts?

Yes, there was a poster you could get with a coupon and a $10 purchase to stick these to.  This was exactly like the 1994 Ingles Atlanta Braves set I recently learned about.  Now I'm curious if any other teams did something similar.

I found a Kroger ad in the December 5th Fort Worth Star-Telegram where you could purchase the entire set for $3.99, which got you the poster and all 7 strips.

HOWEVER...while it lists 21 players, it lists Chad Hennings, Jim Jeffcoat and Bill Bates, who were not included on any of the strips, and does not include Darren Woodson, Kevin Smith or Willie Jackson.  I'm not sure if this means there was another strip, or if three stickers came with the poster that did not come on a strip.

While digging for Cowboys stickers, I also found a reference in the Akron Beacon Journal for Giant Eagle advertising a "Pirate All-Star Baseball Card Sticker Booklet".  From June 18 - July 9, when you have color print rolls developed, you get two different cards.  The booklet came with two Clemente stickers with images of his 1972 & 1973 Topps cards.  A quick eBay search turns up mentions of a 1990 Giant Eagle series of Clemente stickers, also issued on these kind of 3-sticker strips.  All Topps Clemente card reprints.  I suspect the eBay listing has the year wrong.

Seems this trend may have begun with a series of Nolan Ryan stickers in 1993 from Minyard Food Stores in Texas.  That is listed as a 27 card set, though curiously the first strip is labeled "Week 2".

In addition to the Clemente, Ryan and Dallas Cowboys sets I've found like these, there is also a Phoenix Suns set that was distributed through Circle K.  Several of those are on eBay at the moment.  Looks like those are already in the database (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/131258/), though they make no reference to how they were distributed and don't have the strips listed, only the individual stickers.
