2011 Topps Attax Baseball Forum

I just received this card in a trade but the front image is different than the one already scanned in the database. Anyone know why?  In all appearances, this card is from this set.

Interesting. I know they had a "foil" parallel set, but they seem to be the same image except all foily/refractory not a different photo completely.

That's the one I sent you! I have about ten of them. I didn't look at the scan when I logged it so if that is a variation it's on me. I'll check the others, but what I recall is they were all the same.

I just checked all are the same, and I'm certain are probably part of the foil set. The test is it having a holographic quality to the card when held to light. I've never really paid attention to "foil", thus the explanation of why I believe them to belong to the related set and not the base.

Yup, the one you sent me.  The foil set here doesn't have many images loaded but the one of Longoria is the same as the regular set. I would be curious to see what Topps answers.

I have not heard back from Topps on this 2011 Attax #100. I called my LCS and he was vaguely aware of the set, but did say that sometimes Topps has programs where cards are given to kids. I got these cards from a Jr. Achievement function where the kids didn't want the cards, instead prefering some silly buttons. So I ended up with about 11 of them. The shop owner said that Topps doesn't print anything different on the cards to distinguish them from other cards.

If anyone else has any insight we'd surely appreciate it. I guess we need official confirmation from Topps to add it as a variation? I'm not sure how that works.
