Are these anything special or just the Team Cards within the regular set? Why are they listed separately?
-------------------------------
You've got a diamond, You've got 9 men, You've got a hat, and a bat, and that's not all. You got the bleachers, got 'em from spring 'til fall. You got a dog, and a drink, and an umpire's call. What do you want? Let's play ball. OK!! [OK!!] Blue Jays!! [Blue Jays!!] Let's! Play! Ball!

"Paper stock, cut from a sheet," according to the set notes.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Sure, what does that mean? I've never seen any variation on these cards. Aren't all cards 'paper stock cut from a sheet'? Thanks!!

These were the special send aways from offers on the wrappers. They were printed on a thinner stock than the packed out cards, and only issued in full sheets (which were meant to be cut). The stock was also whiter than the normal cards.

That was the answer I was looking for. Thank you!! Would it be helpful to make a note in the Comments section for that set?

The info is already in the Release Notes.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Yes, but the release notes only discuss the morphology of the cards as opposed to the origin and reason for the note. Information on this type of thing I feel would be useful to include. Maybe others disagree, but that was the reason for the genesis of the thread. Cheers all!

I have to agree with Ballparks 96. I had no idea these existed and from the Release Notes, I would still not be able to identify one if I only had the one in hand and no other to compare it with. I remember the day when I had never seen a Topps Tiffany card. One time in Florida, I asked an owner of a LCS if he could show me the difference. As it was, he had a few for me to see. Only from then on, I am able to identify a Tifffany card.
I think these are the same as are many of our Note 2 fields when explaining VAR or ERR cards. "From paper stock, cut from a sheet" still leaves me wondering if I have any in my collection. "They were printed on a thinner stock than the packed out cards, and only issued in full sheets (which were meant to be cut). The stock was also whiter than the normal cards." From Dan's explanation, and especially the bold italics, I probably can now confirm that I don't have any of these, mainly because of the "whiter than the normal cards".
This site is not alone in failing to explain differences clearly to the less knowledgeable. Many guides are the same in the lack of clear explanation. Too often in life we write things or give directions to others as if as they already know what you are saying or how to get there. It is amazing how failing to mention that one right turn will cause someone to get lost in an unfamiliar city.
