NBA Top 50 Jerseys/Autos

41. 2011-12 Leaf Best of Basketball Autographs #DS1 Dolph Schayes

Schayes played 16 seasons in the league, and led his team to the postseason in 15 of them. He was a 12 time all star, won a ring in 1955, and was Coach of the Year in 1966. He had a deadly set shot, and if defenders tried to shut that down, he had a quick first step, and an explosive drive to the basket.

42. 2010 Panini Hall of Fame - Famed Signatures #BS Bill Sharman

As a player, he won 4 rings, made 8 all star teams, and was all star MVP. As a coach, he won a ring in the ABA in 1972, then won one in the NBA the next year. He was also Coach of the Year in each league. He was a great free throw shooter, making 56 in a row in the playoffs (still a league record today). He patrolled the Celtic backcourt with Bob Cousy, Cousy was the playmaker, Sharman was the shooter. Sharman made it into the Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach, joining John Wooden and Lenny Wilkens as the only others to accomplish that feat.

43. 2009-10 Panini Court Kings - Dribble Kings Materials #6 John Stockton

Stockton turning the corner, no doubt looking for The Mailman for an assist. Stockton averaged a double-double for his career (points and asists), was a 10 time all star, and only missed 22 games in his career. You knew the pick and roll was coming, and couldn't stop it. He holds the NBA record for assists, steals, and played on two Olympic teams.

44. 2008-09 Topps - 1958-59 Variations Relics Gold #173 Isiah Thomas

I like the throwback look of this card, both on the front and back.

2 rings, 12 All Stars, a great ball handler and scorer. I know first hand that guys on his team loved him as a player, but didn't care too much for him as a person.

45. 2010-11 Panini Elite Black Box - Elite Series Materials Prime #6 Nate Thurmond

7 time all star, and first player to record a quadruple double (22 pts, 14 boards, 13 assists, 12 blocks against the Hawks). He played alongside Chamberlain, and then broke out after Wilt went to the Sixers. Thurmond still holds the record for rebounds in a quarter (18), and had season average rebounds of 21.3 and 22.0, numbers only eclipsed by Russell and Chamberlain. He was known as the best screen-setter in the league, and despite playing with Rick Barry and Jerry Lucas, never won a title.

46. 2008 Donruss Sports Legends - Materials Mirror Blue #86 Wes Unseld

One ring, one MVP, rookie of the year, 5 all star games. He also was the second player (Wilt was the first) to win rookie of the year and MVP in the same season. He was a great rebounder, set picks like a brick wall, and was a master at starting the fast break with his outlet passes. Unseld also appears on a ton of basketball cards from the 70's and early 80's, as many of the photographs were taken on the Bullets home court. He averaged a double-double for his career, and moved into the front office as a GM and coach after his playing days ended.

47. 2006-07 Bowman Sterling #27 Bill Walton

Walton roamed the bench with the Celtics at the end of his career, winning an NBA Sixth Man award. Only player in history to win an MVP, Finals MVP, and a Sixth Man. He finished his career with 2 rings, 2 all star appearances, an MVP, and 2 NCAA titles.

48. 2006-07 UD Black #2 Jerry West

1 ring, 14 all star teams, and the freaking logo of the league! He averaged 27 points for his career, only behind Jordan, Baylor, and Wilt in that category. He was known as a clutch player, could score from insie or outside, and then went on t even greater success as a front-office guy. As a GM, he brought Magic, Kobe, and Shaq to LA, as well as Phil; Jackson as a Coach. He has 7 rings as a GM.

49. 2008-09 Topps - 1958-59 Variations Autographs #183 Lenny Wilkens

9 time All Star, 1 All Star MVP as a player. As a Coach, he won a ring with the Sonics, a Gold Medal with the Dream Team (as an assistant), a Gold Medal in 96 (as Head Coach), and was Coach of the Year in 94 with the Hawks. A talented left-handed player, he ended his career #2 on the all-time assist list. Lenny is the only person on both the NBA Top 50 Player and Top 10 Coaches list. He joins John Wooden and Bill Sharman as the only players to be enshrined as both Player and Coach.

50. 2010-11 Panini Elite Black Box - Materials #134 James Worthy

"Big Game James" won 3 rings with the Lakers, a Final MVP, 7 all stars, and held court with Magic and Kareem. He had great size and quickness, and baseline game that was near impossible to defend.

Fantastic list! By the way, my favorite card in your listing is the Walt Frazier Artifacts card.

MAS- Finally scored the Bing off eBay. I got lucky, as the seller had the year incorrect in his posting, and I was able to Buy It Now before others saw it..

Gunny- Thanks! The Frazier is pretty cool; my favorites have to be the Barkley (only jersey card of him I could find, and fairly rare), and the Thurmond.
