My first love is for my favorite local Minor League team the MidWest League Cedar Rapids Kernels and past team monikers.

I like trades for items on my Want List, and I’m interested in items not in my list like: Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL),  Nolan Ryan, Mascots & other Iowa based teams from any sport.  70s & 80s TCMA MiLB team sets, Other MidWest League teams and artifacts.  University of Iowa Hawkeyes any sports.  Cedar Rapids Team Photos, looking for 2022 (may), 2016, 2015, 2004, 2002 and older.

I have all Cedar Rapids minor league team sets and most variations from 1972-2023.  I think I have them all, but always looking for rare or scarce Team Set variations.  Starting in 2020 I began adding all MidWest League Top Prospects and Allstar sets that include players in a Cedar Rapids uniform or logo.  Also collecting singles, Parallels, SN, Variations, and Patches from the big card producers (Mostly Topps).

Most Wanted List:  complete factory sealed sets for the following:

  • 1996 Best MidWest League Allstar
  • 2010 Grandstand MidWest League Allstar

Forsale/Trade: Here are some Team Sets and Unopened Material, click on to see details,

Thanks for looking.

Recently returned to collecting/trading after 25-year layoff.

Enjoying this site and connecting with everyone. Just surpassed my first 100 trades on the site!

Collecting mostly modern NBA cards and enjoy set building.  Just getting lightly into modern NFL & MLB.

All prior inventory from the junk wax era (NBA and MLB) mostly up for sale/trade, even if not listed in my for sale/trade list.

Open to all size trades, not interested in buying at the moment.

I just started back into this hobby after rediscovering my childhood collection.

I don’t collect anything in particular, just love going through cards. I mainly build my collection through other collections I find in the wild at estate sales, auctions and garage sales. You never know what you are going to find. I am looking forward to trading on this site too.

I do prefer baseball and basketball cards over other sets. Condition of the card is not a huge issue for me, but I will try to let you know if I see any flaws in the trades I am offering. Or if you know of a concern of a certain card let me know so I can review it. Also, I prefer to trade cards for cards, I am not looking to purchase cards.

Profile photo is me and the “The Fridge” in 1991. He was signing my Game Day program.

Update: I am finding that Bo Jackson if one of my main desired collection. Frank Thomas as well those two stand out from my early memories. I also like the following players

Lebron James

Pablo Banchero

Michael Jordan

Larry Bird

Stephen Curry

Scottie Pippen and Jr.

Mike Trout

Caitlin Clark

Shohei Ohtani

Bryce Harper

The Kelce Brothers

Corbin Carroll

Nolan Ryan

  • One of each Topps Cubs card ever produced, starting with base from 77-present - I've got a LONG way to go;-)

IN TRADES: I prefer to trade my dupes for cards I need from the same set or within a few years each way, but I do make trades all the time that violate that preference. Generally speaking, my cards are in pack fresh condition. I pack and ship carefully, and expect that we all do in this community. If a particular card of mine is NOT in pack fresh condition, I try very hard to note that with a condition indicator, and when possible, a note about what the defect(s) is(are). In these cases, comparable condition in return is of course acceptable. When making trades without those exceptions, I am looking for cards in the following conditions.

  • Pre 1975 - Probably would be ok with VG. Dinged corners acceptable, but not rips, tears, completely rounded corners, creases, or significant wax/gum stains. Centering no worse than 85/15.
  • 1975-1981 - OK with EX or better. No rounded corners, No creases, No gum/wax stains, no worse than 75/25 centering.
  • 1982-1991 - Has to be at least EX-MT. Centering 80/20 minimum.
  • 1992-present - Looking for NrMt or better.

I'm aware that we all judge our cards a bit differently, but I subscribe to the general notion that a card's "grade" should be based on the entire package, e.g. a 75/25 off center card could have scalpel sharp corners and great color, so might suffice as better than the off-center defect would hurt it. I own fewer than 10 slabbed/graded cards, so more interested in the card's aesthetic appeal than the grade it might receive.

Finally, trade value does not have to be even to the penny. I'd like to move my cards in which I am less interested into the hands of fellow collectors who would value tham more than I do, and I hope that those I trade with feel the same. As much as my heart wants Beckett to be the guide it was when I grew up in the early 80s, I tend to use sold comps from the prior 90 days on eBay where those comps exist to come up with value when necessary, but when trading commons, 1 for 1 generally works for me.

This is a hobby, and I am in it for the joy of collecting. It doesn't mean I wouldn't take some cash for a card that someone else will love more than I do, but "breaking even" is the ideal. When in doubt, shoot me a message and let's see what we can work out.

Thanks!
