My first card purchases, from Fecteau's Country Store in Epping NH. 2 bucks for five packs. They were promptly encased in a rubber band and stuck in a pocket to show my friends at recess. Third grade, if I remember correctly.

Picked up a second complete base set of the 86 topps getting ready to build my binder.IF I was to build this set as a complete PSA set through a guy I know with his pricing to send the cards in little at a time it would coast me over time up to $14,000 dollars, you think it would ever sell then.

Although I think I opened a few packs of 1985 Topps, it was the 1986 packs that REALLY got me into collecting. I once took a bus trip with our church youth group, and we stopped at a Toys R Us, and I bought all the rack packs I could afford. STILL a great memory, and although there aren't a boatload of rookies, the 1986 set will always be great nostalgia for me.

Most of my box bottom cards are still 4 card panels.

First pack of cards I ever bought. Hard earned chore money nabbed me a pack a week that summer. Kept the poor guy's in the sock drawer. Live and learn...

This set has really grown on me over the years. The card designs just look classic.

the first set that I truly tried to complete through wax packs and trades (preinternet days) I never did complete it as I bought tons of packs and still was missing about 20-25 cards. beautiful set! loved the pete rose specials!

Very tough to get a whole box bottom panel in mint condition. Bottoms tend to have scratches from sliding and creases simply because it is a box bottom, a container.

This was the first set of cards (aside from the Quaker Granola from the same year) that I actively collected. I still like the design with the team name "banner" over the picture. It made storing/sorting the cards so much easier. Lots of good memories with this set.

I use your site more than the others. Nice way of getting info. For ex: I have a 1977 card that didnt have a printed back which is where info of the player and card is. So, naturally I came to your site.

I'm pretty sure that the 1986 Topps cards were the first trading cards I got. I was 7 at the time but I remember my parents buying me packs of this set.

My first set that I really remember heavily collecting. Today worthless, but picture/player wise it had value
