I absolutely LOVE the fact that Topps honored Chris Sale and Throwback Jerseys with this card. First, he lost this game to the Detroit Tigers (HOF Tiger names on brick wall in background) and struggling pitcher Mike Pelfrey. 2nd and more impressively is the fact that Chris Sale had an incident with throwback jerseys a month later in Detroit. The White Sox were supposed to wear the 1976 collared jerseys. Sale was supposed to start that game, but didn't want to wear them so he cut up his jersey along with a few others. The Sox came out wearing 1983 throwbacks and Sale was sent home and scratched from the start. The fact that Topps produced this card makes it one of the nice brightspots for the 2017 set. This card is a definite must have in my collection and if I was a Sox fan, I'd love to get Sale's signature on this particular card and see his reaction while signing it.
