I believe that this card should have had an AL All-Star designation on it. In 1981, topps only listed 2 AL outfielders with All-Star designations on their cards (Reggie Jackson and Fred Lynn). Like Jackson and Lynn, Ben Oglivie also started the All Star game that year, so he was probably the person who was left out. Just like in 1979, when no AL SS was listed and Freddie Patek should have been recognized. |
