Yes. Once I get them all scanned, I will sort them and compare them to my duplicates to see if I have any upgrades or any hidden variations. My records are card number based so if I show that I have a card, any new copies go in one of the dupes boxes. It doesn't tell me if the card I have is in good shape or not, and if there are more than one version of a card, like an error and correction, I likely wouldn't know, and in fact have already found about 10 of them in my dupes box, half of them from 1991 Traks NASCAR alone.
I have, I estimate, around 70,000 duplicates. In the NBA. That doesn't count the NASCAR and NHL dupes, non-sports added since 2010, nor does it count what I've already listed on my Tradelist here. The majority of them have not seen daylight since 2003 or earlier.
I have not yet decided if I want to sort the collection and dupes at the same time, or one after the other. My original plan was to do them at the same time in one huge massive sort, but then I second guessed myself and was afraid I would not know which was in the dupes box originally and thus would miss marking it as part of my collection if I found something. It would also be less difficult on just the space needed as well if I did each separately and then compared set by set. I have time to make a final decision.
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
