Thanks, Dan. I hadn't checked UPS, but did USPS and through PayPal (much cheaper by a little more than $3.00 - I think it was under $10.00 for a 3-lb package)

Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope 9.5 x 12.5 ships for $7.25 from the PO. Slightly cheaper on Paypal.
If you have some card boxes, use that bubble mailer. They will hold two 600-count boxes inside.

Ok, I'm going to look into that. I'm assuming those are free to get at the PO and then I can experiment with what I put inside?

I use flat rate bubble envelope regularly, but they are not at my local PO
I order every year or so from the website for free
most I have fit in those are two 300 ct boxes, or one 550 ct box

Agreed, my local PO quit carrying them due to people cutting them up for padding instead of using them for packaging. They're still free, but you have to order them in packs of 10 IIRC from usps.com.
Your sizing sounds correct. I've used them for some of the 90s 440 card Bowman sets and there's not a ton of room leftover.

Kudos to you guys who trade that many cards at one time. I don't think I could manage it my anxiety would get the best of me.

This may be my first - it's just an offer I've submitted and had preliminary discussions with my probable partner. There is a bit of anxiety, but some of the mailing issues have subsided due to the discussion on this thread.

My bad! I meant to type "two 500-count boxes". I shipped in one with a 500-count box on one side. The other side had a 250-count box and a 300-count box. There was still room for some small 20-50 count boxes on one side or another OR some team bags with more cards in them.
The PM FR bubble mailers are kind of random as to where to find them. You can certainly order them on USPS.com for free and they will be delivered to your mailbox. But there are some PO's that still carry them. These would be main offices in big cities or central locations in counties. I got a stack of 5 from an actual Post Office, but it's the biggest one in the county and the one in downtown of the biggest city in that county. I only have one left, so I need to get some more of them. My closest PO's are small rural locations and do not carry them usually. Another awesome option for shipping is the Priority Mail Regional Box A and B. They do have a weight limit, but cards won't reach that limit at all. They are longer than the Medium Flat Rate box and not as tall. They are almost perfectly sized for shipping cards. They are half the cost of the Medium Flat Rate box also. You do have to order them from USPS.com and do all of the labeling/postage online through USPS, but they are great for cards and card supplies. I get hobby boxes shipped to me inside of those boxes and then I use them again to ship out used card supplies (toploaders and such) to an ebay seller when he needs more for cheaper than new supplies. Those boxes are great b/c they only cost $6.60 to ship and you can put as much as 15 lbs. in the A and 20 lbs. in the B. The most I've ever shipped in one was about 7 pounds after I stuffed it as full as I could get it.

I use any box I have available [amazon boxes are good], so long as dimensions [LxWxH] are relatively close to any USPS boxes...any size flat rate, A, B, even envelopes etc, whichever is the cheapest that day and fits the most. Sometimes Select parcel works. I click on every mailing option available, and send using the cheapest. Remember, have a roll of Priority stickers available and slap them all over the box. I've never had any box returned or complaints about postage due.
I'm also thrilled that many of you took my cue about using, PayPal send now option. Saves money! Also excellent for Canadian orders.
I have PayPal but just added PayPal Business on a trial basis, seeing if there are any perks.
Don't be afraid to experiment, nobody is going to arrest you for trying, what's the worst case scenario...package is returned...postage due....but no FBI investigations. lol.
Funny eBay; has anybody noticed, list for $.99 auction w/ $5.00 s/h OR $5.99 BIN w/ free shipping. Most of the time the $.99 auction sells before BIN......What?? same price. What goes thru buyers' minds?
