My goal is to get organized - and never again tell a trading partner that I can't find a card I had on my trade list! Aside from a variety of psycho-social issues my main problem is that I have already run out of space. I have cards or binders in a closet in my son's room, under my bed and wherever the last place i was working was.

The good news is that I am now more motivated than ever to refinish my basement - if I can stop organizing/trading cards long enough to get that work done!

My main goal is to be around to talk aboput setting 2020 Goals

Card Collecting Goals for 2019 seeing as how I still haven't switched jobs yet :(

  # 1. Finally finish the 1971 Topps Baseball Set ,

  # 2. Conitnue my climb towards and then ATOP the Greg Maddux collections.

  # 3. Get more Cubs cards

  # 4. Try hard to get a 2018  Topps Kris Bryant Highlights Rainbow

Is that each color of each card, Big Ben?  Quite an impressive undertaking.   I ask, not remembering if there are any 1/1 cards.

Knock lots of cards from my want list, when I get home the reduction will begin as I already have a purchase and hopefully 2 trades that will knock off hopefully 500 to 600 cards, then to sell or trade more cards to then buy or trade more off my list

As I said in my post on the 1st page, I have not set any goals for 2019. That's still true and I have a good reason to set no specific goals. I did well on my 2018 goals b/c they were specific and I made it a point to make progress on those. But things changed for me many times throughout the year that led to new goals or reviving old goals that I didn't think I'd complete.

So my actual 2019 goal would be to keep doing what I've been doing! I want to keep my haves accurate and keep adding my traders and my wants. I want to continue gaining cards for my MLB Cardinals, NFL Panthers and NASCAR driver PC's. I'm not going to put numbers on any of those b/c as long as I keep adding, I'm happy.

For 2018, I said I wanted to hit 20 Jimmie Johnson AU cards or 10 1/1's. I didn't think I'd do either, but I did get one. I made it to 15 AU's on the final week of this year, but that was only halfway to my goal of 20. BUT, I did get to ELEVEN 1/1's this year. That means I got the first 5 in 2017 and 6 more in 2018. I could've added so many more if I wasn't dealing with car issues or trying to replace my car the last half of the year. I was also dealing with the monster collection that I obtained in October that still has me off the game plan from earlier in the year. I have to take things as they come and try to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves and I've done that very well this year without screwing myself financially.

When you set a goal to get a single vintage card of Stan Musial and end the year with 3 of them, that's excellent! A third of the year passed before I got my 1st one. And I didn't even try to add to them during the last third b/c there were more pressing things to deal with then. I just took advantage when the opportunities arose.

Goals for 2018 (and progress recap)

recover lost 61 cards, about 30 to go
  - completed

finish 76 baseball second set
   - completed

work 71 baseball second set from 64% complete to 80% complete
   - completed (to 80%)

start an 70s sspc baseball set (have starter set in hand to begin)
   - completed (to 80%)

finish 78 football set
   - completed

main goal for 2018 is kind of general- move 5-10 vintage sets from boxes to binders,
    upgrading and helping others upgrade along the way

   - did not complete, spent a lot of time on one particular set, carry over to this year

uv/modern- continue to tinker in cardinals team sets and adding new redskins to team collections without spending 
    much money in these categories.

61 hi numbers cut list of 19 down to 12

48-53 bowman cardinals team sets 32 needed, get down to 22

74-75 basketball 28 needed, get under 10

         - make 20 trades
              completed with 77 trades + some others in messages only

        - finish entering redskins collection (enterd 2017 back to 93 so far), next decades should go much quicker with fewer sets
              completed 

        - finish entering baseball extras that are not already in spreadsheets
              completed

        - start but not finish entering cardinals baseball extras and redskins football extras on new user id here
            did not start cardinals extras, finished redskins extras that were on spreadsheet, will finish entire box at later date

My goal for 2019 is to have LESS  cards for trade at end of year then now.  I have almost 18,000  got to get that down

After getting one new card every day of 2018, I am entering 2019 with specifically zero goals for the year, for the first time in a while. 

I do want to hit 100 trades on the Transaction Manager here, I'm at 80 now with one in progress. I did 25 last year so I expect this will happen this year. I might even take the plunge and learn how to compose a transaction instead of just waiting for them to come to me.
