I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I haven't been married for many, many years now, but my ex-wife was very supportive. She didn't have much interest in sports, but she knew I love collecting cards. She would randomly come home with a blaster of cards for me just because she was at a store that sold them. And she always knew what to get me for my birthday and Christmas.

NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. Mine mostly just light heartedly teases me and calls me a nerd. But she never complains about how much time or money I spend on it. She’s a pretty awesome woman.

Gentle tolerance. She buys me cards every Christmas and for my birthday -- goes to the card shop twice a year, which is about twice as often as I do.
Allows me wall space in the basement for my two -- hopefully soon three -- display cases. Gives me a shelf in the den. Will listen about cards, every now and then, as long as I limit myself to things that might actually be slightly interesting to a non-collector. Says nothing about the expense, knowing I keep it reasonable, given our income.
Yeah, gentle tolerance.
My backup daughter, on the other hand, is my #1 partner. While my starting daughter used to be #1 partner and has now moved into gentle tolerance mode, joining my wife on her semi-annual trips.
I have no complaints.

My wife would be happy if I stopped collecting as she sees it as a waste of time and money. It's simply a subject that causes too much uneasiness so as much as I'd love to have her be supportive it's best to keep my discussions here with my online family.

She doesn't officially qualify per the title of the thread, but my mother says I have too many cards! "You need to get rid of them."

Maybe I am luckier than most. My wife is somewhere between tolerant and encouraging, depending on the day. Somewhat similar to what V3 described above. I will get a blaster box on occasion or hobby related supplies. I tried getting my son into collecting on his own but it didn't take. Although, he does enjoy ripping packs and helping me out with my collection when the Tim Horton's cards come out.

I wouldn't exactly say it's a "ringing endorsement" but at least she hasn't "bonfired" them (..yet ) Probably falls into the lukewarm category so I guess one might say indifferent.
