If you think prices are outrageous, at times, on Ebay, check out facebook "deals". In my area, someone has "vintage 1964 cards" for sale for $150........3 cards - John Roseboro, Floyd Robinson and Joe Pepitone. Not even in mint condition. Now I was a Pepitone fan after Berra retired but for $150, Pepi would have to come to my house and autograph every card I have of him.

Seen a $2 Deion on there for $12 + del. they must be hoping no one has a price guide, seen another .50 card going for $12

I see lots of stuff like this in my area as well
I am buying 2 boxes of conlon collection baseball this weekend from a guy for a reasonable price

I've got some great deals on cards lately on eBay but was royally screwed on shipping..But I knew that going in because the cards were so cheap..
And, as a follow on, I know that some people balk at shipping prices when selling cards on here but they are what they are..I charge folks exactly what I pay at the post office unlike what some eBay sellers charge which can be 2 or 3X the actual shipping charges..

I've seen that too. Hard to tell if it's ignorance or an attempt to rob people. One box of early 90's Topps/Fleer/Donruss for only $150.
It's like c'mon dude...

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster. |
