Odd USPS tracking numbers

I recently placed four orders on Ebay. All items have been shipped, but the USPS #s are almost 30 characters long. They don't show up as anything when I look them up on the PO site. A couple of these purchases weren't even sent via package, so I don't understand why there is a tracking number to begin with. Anyone else experience this lately?

Tracking #s are usually 22 characters.

Those could possibly be FedEx Ground tracking #'s....

It sometimes takes up to 24 hours for the tracking to show on the site, when did you place the orders? Also, I've had a few orders where the tracking number provided via eBay never registered beyond "Awaiting pickup from sender" on the USPS site, but I still got the package.

After I say this I checked my past orders. USPS is 22 as pointed out and one I have coming from Canada is 13. I couldn't find one at 30 characters.

Are you sure they are USPS numbers? I know other carriers sometimes have longer tracking codes.

By what I was told USPS tracking number is longer then the 22 number but the public should only see the 22 numbers. I had one several months ago and showed my Postal worker it and she put it in and give me the information She also was wondering HOW I got the full number.

should start with 9400 if printed outside of post office and 9405 if inside That tells them a cleck printed it so they got it. Try highlighting it and do a web search or enter numbers starting at 940

Here are two of the numbers. Both mailed on Tuesday 0004 0899 5637 xxxx xxxx 0004 0000 7452 xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xx I get an error message when I enter them at USPS ------------------------------- Please, no PWE trades!

Longmont CO startes with 950 I take all my packages in side and I have had 9505 and 9500
