Has anyone got an early look into Santa's pack to see if they are receiving any cards? I thought maybe the Canadians here might know being that they are first on his list of visits due to their proximity to the NP.

Nothing here, but randford is spitting distance away. If it's not too frozen over maybe he can sneak a peek?

My parents have stated, “I hate buying cards for you, because I don’t know what you have.” I may be surprised, but highly doubt it. Probably just getting money to buy cards with.

I anticipate getting some, since my brother asked what recent sets I hadn't bought a blaster box of.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I know I'll be getting some because that's all that made my list. In fact my son-in-law asked, "Would you be okay if we ever spent $50 on just one card, or do you prefer quantity?" I just said, "It depends." Anyway, I'm excited about Christmas this year. I'll let you know what I get.

It's been more than a decade since I didn't get cards for Christmas....or my birthday...or Easter...or just because. So I am pretty sure I will be getting some. Probably hockey because it's more wide open, less chance of getting duplicates that way. Of course, the last time my mom went to Target, she called and asked me if Donruss was something I collect, so a blaster of 2017-18 Donruss NBA would not surprise me either. I don't have a single card yet from the set, so I will be very happy. She already got me a hobby box of Donruss NASCAR but I wouldn't be totally surprised to get a blaster of that either, lol.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Spitting distance is a relative term when it freezes as it leaves your lips, it quickly falls to the ground with a slight thud!! LOL All kidding aside it was at the top of my list as well but she says the same thing, I don't know what to buy. However I did get a hobby box of OPC and UD S1 last year so she could be yanking my chain. I have a funny feeling it is something "different" from years past. Just a hunch.

I'll be shocked if I get any cards for Christmas. My family does the "Wish List" deal and after 2 decades of putting "Blaster boxes from Target or Walmart" on my list every year, I stopped putting it on there a couple years ago. It was much easier to get Ultra Pro pages and binders from my list than actual cards to go in them.
I've started just buying some cards for myself for Christmas. Last year, it was an old hobby box of 1995 Action Packed NASCAR cards. This year, it was 5 MEM cards from a case-breaker friend for my driver collections. I don't get to open any packs this year, but I like what I got (and they've already been added here WITH scans). Sometimes there is a bonus for being single and child-less. I can afford to buy presents for myself for Christmas and not worry what it cost me!
However, it sucks that I finally bought sports-related items for someone else (that isn't my sister's kids) and won't get to see his reaction this year. My sister's boyfriend is a big Dodgers fan and I bought him a couple of items. Then I found out he won't be here for Christmas Day (spending it with his son) and I won't be at my family's Christmas Eve dinner (working), but he will be there. I told everyone they better get a picture of him opening my present! He is more of a casual sports fan, but he has his teams. I know his stories of why those are his teams and they lead to someone introduced to sports early but never really got into it b/c he didn't have anyone to share that with. I got him to join us for the NASCAR race in Martinsville, VA in October. That was his first race ever (at any level) and even though the weather sucked, he had a blast and said he'd definitely do it again. I'll get him to be more than a casual fan eventually. "WINK"

Oh I feel confident. I get some every year. And my wife and starting daughter disappeared for a couple of hours over thanksgiving break. That means they went to the card shop.
Probably a bunch of 1969s I need, and maybe a few other surprises. Can’t wait because I spent my year’s budget by the end of November. I’m jonesing for some cards.

Herein Canada, the story about Santa is that he is Canadian and in his travels, he never crosses the 49th parallel. After all, the good people live north of it.....
