After being a member of TCDB for a number of years, I’ve posted to the forum and read many forum threads. TCDB has so many great features and I’m sure more on the way. ADMIN and the L8s do a great job of keeping us within the site guidelines. Recently there have been threads regarding “selfishness” on the part of some members. Not sure members are that selfish, some treat it strictly as a database, some luv to trade, some like to buy and sell. TCDB is definitely big and broad enough for all to live in harmony. Me, personally, have finally realized how to work within the guidelines but still utilize the features to make TCDB my own, for me to navigate around as I see fit. The forum allows all members to voice their opinions, ask questions, make suggestions and certainly make comments….that is what a forum is for. I, finally feel comfortable in the DB, allowing me to personalize as I must, for my needs. All members should have that same freedom. Thank you for reading through my lengthy post. ~Bob~

Excellent message Bob. I for one agree, I may be an L8 but not the most active one. I do MY thing first then when times allows it I do the TCDB thing. Which is fine by all here. Do what you can when you can, you don't need to do "this" much a month to be respected here, just being here and being civil is enough to fit in. Afterall, isnt that the way it should be anywhere?!
*UPDATE* My typing sucks!!! LOL

I think I'm an L8. I contribute very little these days. As far as what I love about the site: release dates with sell sheets for future products. I get excited when there's a new one I haven't seen yet, even though I'll never buy packs of 80% of the stuff. Card battles. Ranking sets. Links to blogs (maybe someday I'll submit mine for a link request). I'll appreciate the checklists more, once my collection is all entered. For now it's a necessary chore. Forums aren't as fun as they once were (I admit I'm part of the reason for that) but maybe they will make a comeback.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

CAD that is all of us I think, I have not scanned a single card in over two weeks, just got tired of it for now. Things have picked up at work (thank god) and I have been falling asleep in th evenings more than I used to, funny how that works. Hahaha. But your words ring true to several I bet.

The members around here help keep the database up to date and as ACCURATE as possible. Most people around here know their card STUFF.

My site activity depends on a lot of things. Namely how I am feeling about the site and members. Working on my collection. I am on my third interation of re-entering my collection into the site. Having deleted it twice so far. Bottom line I need to get organized with the over 100K of cards in my home. Collecting desires have changed.
I do get tired of some of the members attacking others for a suggestion, comment or post. What is the L8 people have mentioned?
Finally I do not know how I stand within the TCDB community as I do in my non online community. Don't know HMMMMMMMM

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

You're one of the goods ones, Mark. I'm sure all the forum regulars would agree.

i too have a Love-hate relationship with the site and my head doesn't like it... for one, i love it because i can keep track of things and as long as the CL / info is accurate, it makes things easier and i do enjoy entering the CL.
the hate part, comes from now i can see exactly how many more cards i do need and comes to me spending more $$$ and my head doesn't like it, because everytime my wife sees me on the site i get the smack on the back of the head or the "Oh, you playing with your cards --AGAIN?" (evil sadistic hispanic voice of hers) :-)
its all good though!
