I have a number of 2003 Topps 205 Triple Fold inserts, which each small dabs of sticky tack holding the folded card closed. To me the "original condition" had the cards stuck closed so that's how a left them, similiar to people leaving food issue card sealed in cellophane.
On the other hand, folded cards could be considered like booklet cards, in which case they are meant to be opened.
No black and white solution to the original question I suppose.

With so many sets being discussed here, I should emphasize that the "Gwynn card" I referenced was this one C2 presented. He said "I'd like opinions". Maybe mine was unclear. What's new. This is the one I said could be left as is. Unfolded, but with the outside as front and inside as back.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

As David said - and...
No one suggested in this thread unfolding cards that are sealed using any method.

I think there is some confusion about these cards. They don't open like a book, but from the top. Also, the "front" that folds up isn't complete. Clemens from the waist down is visible when folded and Glavine is visible from head to waist. I added scans of the card opened and in the order I think they should be posted. Tell me what's wrong with them now that there is more info and scans.

EDIT to add: These aren't sealed shut in any way.

Here's an example of what I was referring. Only the front image is shown in trades, matches, and User Lists. And you end up with this:

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Can everyone please stop piggy-backing this thread to talk about OTHER sets and just give their opinion on THIS SET!? I asked a simple question about a single set and there are about a dozen sets being talked about in this thread. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON 2003 FLEER DOUBLE HEADER folding cards? That's ALL I wanted to know. PLZ talk about the other sets in threads/forums for those sets, not this one!

Sorry Adam, I got side tracked and didn't even realize it!
I like your scan of the open card because it shows all of the card. However, I do like to see the scan of the card closed as well, because that shows the interesting design and visual effect of the set. Maybe that portion of the set needs needs an image scheme similar to what Billy did with the '92 Redline Racing Standups where the front is shown both ways. Do you want to set one up like that and we'll see what it looks like?

My opinion about 2003 FLEER DOUBLE HEADERS is that the cards you are referencing should be scanned just like the T201 Double Folders. I, like others, was using what's called a COMPARISON to another set in order to make my point. If I went and did that in the T201 forum, it really wouldn't make much sense. The T201s are identical in structure to the 2003 DOUBLE HEADERS, so I committed the sin of mentioning them in this thread. I don't feel like that deserved the lecture.
Perhaps my (and others') diversion into talking about players with unusual numbers of fingers deserved a scolding, but that was just in good fun, which, I believe, is one reason some people come to this site. Heaven knows I've had many a post I've started highjacked by other topics. All in good FUN!
I hope the scanning of the 2003 DOUBLE HEADERS is done to the satisfaction of everyone soon, and am sorry you were frustrated with the responses. .

Tom, I totally don't understand that set. Somehow I don't have a single card from it. I don't know how I could create and upload a dual scan of the card front and/or back, but that would work well. I do agree that the Double Header loses the visual effect of the folded front. If I knew how to make a front scan that is both opened and closed, the back scan would be fine as just the actual back.

I'm sorry, Vytas! I totally didn't look at your link to that set. So many replies were adding links to other sets that I was tired of looking at other sets by the time you replied. That set has been scanned exactly as I thought the '03 Double Headers should be scanned! I like Tom's idea of having two scans of the front with one open and the other closed, but I don't know how to do that.
I don't think I lectured anyone, but I did get upset enough to scold! Plus, this set being paired with the 1991 UD NFL cards that I have asked questions about and am getting NO responses to got me pretty ticked off. I hate not getting answers when I ask a question. They don't call me "spaz" for no reason.
