1993 Stadium Club Baseball Forum

I recently decided to move all my cards to 5,000 count boxes (as described elsewhere) and in by doing so, managed to get all my Royals cards in one location.  I however have an issue pertaining to the Master Photo cards.  I have one and the problem is it won't fit in the box.  Since I got this card, I've placed it in a desk drawer on its side with something against it to prevent it from moving.  I want a better option though and don't really want to use a binder.  So any ideas on how to store this card?  I thought about simply placing it on top of the rows but worry if I put pressure on the top of the box (which I plan to stack) it would bend the card.

How big is it?  A quick google search shows that stores like Michael's sell storage boxes for some photo sizes.  I realize what the master photos look like; I just can't remember how big they were.

Luckily I had a ruler close by, because I'm not good at guessing.  It is 5x7.  If it was like the 1984 Donruss All-Stars (3x5) it would fit perfect on its side.

I might look on Michael's website, it gives me a reason to procrastinate today.

I haven't done this, but plan to someday, with some jumbos that I have; buy small frames to display a card or bigger frame for several. I have a 1947-66 Exhibits Alvin Dark which is basically the size of a medium-sized postcard that I want to display with a few other items in it.

Anyway, just a thought, and I'm assuming the card you're referencing is like that, or like my Shaq jumbo that Billy sent me a while back. I keep it atop the rows like you said and hope it doesn't get bent.

That's a good idea, but I think for now I'm not going to display it.  I do have a display shelf I rotate items on occasinally and eventually will use a card shelf I made, but don't really have a spot for it right now.  I think I found a nice photo box on Michael's website I might get.

I wouldn't put it on top of the box. It would probably bend it badly. The tall cards that are the same width, they can fit in the columns so that's ok. I have a box I use to store oversized stuff. It's a pain to store them, but it can hold full uncut pages of SI for kids with room to spare. I actually have an idea for storing some oversized cards but I'm not sure it will work...I'll update as soon as I can but probably won't be until next year.

I keep two rulers next to my computer, at arm's length from me, just for measuring cards. I keep two because I can usually only find one at a time, since I'm so scatterbrained and terrible at putting things away.

LOL I got one of everything in here, including rulers and tape measures. Also every kind of pen, highlighter, pencil, I could go on forever!

A suggestion for everyone.   If you come across non-standard cards, put the measurements of it into the comments section for that set.   I think it would help people to determine if they have the right cards or if they want to collect that specific set.

what about maybe using a type of top loader for it, similar to what you would store autographed pics in?
