I've only got an insert - Stackhouse's All-Fleer #1 Barkley - from either this or the U.S. set, and the random sampling I compared everything looks the same, including language and copyright information.
Trivia on the set's overview page states:
- There is basically no difference between the US and European versions of Series 1 (#1-150).
So is there a minor difference to distinguish them, or is there no difference?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Thanks, David. I'll not have to concern myself with completing my basketball PC with them.

This sounds similar to the 2002 Pacific Private Reserve football issue I'm working on. If there's no difference, shouldn't we be deleting one of the sets? I mean, they're the exact same card, just listed here twice.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Well, this set in particular is different once you get beyond card #150, it's just that the wording seems to indicate to me that there were slight differences in cards #1-150, but that's not the case.

Hmm. But not a case of glossy vs. non-glossy, right? Do you have some of each, Billy?

Correct, they are both glossy. The Euro version is just glossier...it's something you'd only pick up on after spending a lot of time with either of the sets. I do have some...most of the American set, only a couple of the European set, but I may have mixed some together by mistake. The European set has exclusive team logo cards, which I pick up whenever I can.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I remember opening a box of European when they were new, and tons of American. I never noticed a difference in the gloss. It must be slight. As usual, my answer cant be trusted.

It's almost imperceptible. It's not even something you can see...you can feel it though. Get out one of each and rub your fingers on them with your eyes closed. You will be able to tell that there is a difference.
I opened some packs back in the day as well, but not a full box. I didn't consider them part of my actual collection at the time and have not seen them since the late 90s. I've probably gotten a couple of the team cards I had again, since I now consider them part of my collection proper. I know they are somewhere in my storage unit but I don't know if I will ever find them.
