I get the crappy autographsby Jgamble - 103 cards (Last updated on Nov 15, 2022) |
21. 2007 TriStar Elegance - Signature Marks #SM-JA Jonny Ash
11th round (334) pick by the Astros in the 2004 draft. Even Jake Postelwait went ahead of him. Jonny Ash couldn't walk the line any higher than AAA Round Rock and was out of the game by 2008
|
22. 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition #176 Vance Worley
3rd round (102) pick by the Phillies in the 2008 draft. The "Vanimal" is shockingly still playing. I mean, I guess, he's free agent without a lot of hope.
|
23. 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition - Signature Turn of the Century #4 Adam Mills
8th round (264) pick by the Red Sox in the 2007 draft. 4 years, got to AAA pretty quickly. He got blown up at least once in the bigs. Whereabouts unknown
|
24. 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition - Signature Turn of the Century #65 Kyle Russell
3rd round (93) pick by the Dodgers in the 2008 draft. Got injured a lot.Current free agent, still holding on. Good luck, Kyle.
|
25. 2008 Donruss Threads - Diamond Kings Signatures #DK-23 Daniel McCutchen
13th round (404) pick by the Yankees in the 2006 draft. This guy was drafted four different times before signing. What a dweeb. He pitched for the Pirates in parts of four years, and then Texas for one before flaming out in 2016
|
26. 2008 Upper Deck Timeline - 1995 SP Top Prospects Autographs #186 Chris Smith
4th round (264) pick by the Red Sox in the 2002 draft. What's with all these Red Sox draft picks with autos winding up in my collection? Best known for just sitting out 5 straight seasons from 2011-2015 being fussy and playing for teams that no longer exist, before deciding to come back and run out the clock with Oakland.
|
27. 2009 Bowman Sterling - Prospects #BSP-RF Reymond Fuentes
1st round (28) pick by the Red Sox in the 2009 draft. Man, lots of Red Sox draft picks that end up on the scrap heap. Though to be fair, Rey went deep three times in '17 with the Snakes. That's it though.
|
28. 2009 Donruss Elite Extra Edition #134 Tanner Bushue
2nd round (69) pick by the Astros in the 2009 draft. Another extreme nobody who couldn't get past A-ball. Now a web developer.
|
29. 2010 Topps 206 - Mini Framed American Caramel Autographs #ACA-OC Orlando Cabrera
Baseball Reference doesn't list O-Dog's draft info so I assume he just walked on with the Expos in '97. This knucklehead apparently called the press box to overturn an error or a hit or something. Then he played for all 32 teams in the final 5 years of his career, retiring as a Giant in 2011.
|
30. 2010 Topps Chrome - Rookie Autographs #171 Eric Young Jr.
30th round (887) pick by the Rockies in the 2003 draft. His dad could run. He's languishing away in the Mariners organization to this day.

#4, Brett Cardonna. Here's some more info on him: https://twitter.com/brettcaradonna?lang=en
Steve Hammond must have been listening to a Conway Twitty record when he signed his name. Best list I've read in a while. I almost want to buy some cheap scrub autos and mail them to you, just to read your evaluations .
@switzr1 I'd take them. That would be fun. @C2Cigars That's cool for him! Glad he's teaching.
‘Auto looks like a Ross Perot self portriat’ I did literally laugh out loud, and my wife looked at me and rolled her eyes 😆
Dude, I think Eddie Rosario read your preseason comments and decided to play himself off your list. Currently leading the American League in home runs, as of May 10. And it's all because of you!!
This list made me laugh more than a few times. :D
Hahaha .. I like this list... The part I like most is the last portion of each comment where it says "Auto looks like .... " ... Some of those are funny.
Fun list. In all seriousness, I'd be interested in any of the Houston ones, if you've still got them. I can send you some more flameouts for the list if you like.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
hey, dont throw shade at the Vanimal!
Yes, that vrooomed's autograph is absolutely terrible. Even a drunk chicken with a pen in it's claw could do a better job! Even the military wouldn't draft that asthmatic candy-[ahem]. So, no, he was never drafted. Drafty, many times.
#49 in your list reminded me of an AUTO I once pulled from one of those $5 dollar Walgreens 100-card packs of random cards that guarantees a "hit" (an AUTO) in 1 out of every 4 packs. I pulled a bumb who was a former prospect of the Angels named Chevy Clarke. His Auto looks sort of like an inverted bow and arrow. The Auto I pulled was this one from 2010 Donruss Elite Extra Edition, what a bumb: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-Donruss-Elite-2-Card-Chevez-Chevy-Clarke-Auto-Autograph-Lot/143231950253?hash=item21594a1dad:g:l84AAOSwN3lcxeiB:sc:USPSFirstClass!72205!US!-1

Your style of humor in this list makes me laugh. You got jokes, Gambler!
" Not an autograph, but I am too stupid to figure out how to remove cards from lists " lmao
I got a Trey Beamon back in the 90's. Funny stuff.
| ||
I bet buying those crappy 100 card cheap boxes from BigLots or Walgreens really helped with adding to this list!
.
| ||
This is a good list The commentary absolutely makes it great
Gotta get back to some trading today, but reading through the first 10 was a riot. Will have to come back and read through the rest...too much fun!
Some of these got a chuckle out of me.. Orlando Cabrera was an Undrafted Free Agent in 1993.. I would have loved to get that Vidro.. Instead I get some random guy who never made it anywhere in Seattle or Laz Diaz... lol |
