Card: #50 Egg Hatchery

“ One of the last movies I saw in downtown Pittsburgh. Great movie, great card! ” -Gunny

“ Never understood the draw of this movie...doesn't interest me at all, but I am glad to see another non-sports card chosen as Card of the Day. It seems that non-sports has had a more rapid increase in posting than any sports lately (not counting the always steady baseball!) ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Another old movie card. I didn't have this set but I had/have many from other late 70's early 80's movies. ” -koloth42

“ Really? REALLY? ” -eyoung11

“ This is why companies like Upper Deck stopped making baseball cards. Luckily, Topps still does. ” -jlaz10

“ Ahhhh... The Astros jersey after the tequila sunrise ones. I miss both of them.. ” -Mike67

“ Nothing says mid-1990s like Stadium Club designs...although this is not my favorite card design, I still consider that time period to be the best in cards and overall. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ 1995 was a great year for cards, after the plethora of throwbacks from the 75th anniversary. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Pat Patriot was one of the best logos in the NFL of his time. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1981 Fleer (Rate)

Card: #605 Bill Stein

“ He lookslike hes not sure where to stand to play the position. Or else he might be trying to move out of the way of a hit. ” -biggiofn7

“ The hobby has never given Fleer its proper due for breaking Topps' monopoly on baseball cards. It was the lawsuit Fleer had filed that opened the door for the explosion that started the baseball card boom of the 80s and early 90s. The 1981 Fleer set was the first to come out in January of 1981, and the errors of the first printing run caused hysteria among hobbyists. At the first few card shows of the year, dealers were selling out of cases of product and running out to local candy wholesalers to stock up on more. Wax packs included a powdery piece of gum that, unfortunately, was no better than the kind that Topps always used. ” -Dave Sosidka

“ This looks more like a 70s design than an 80s design, I wonder how long it was on the drawing board? I like it though...wish that it was used in one of my sports that I collect. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Despite being years ahead of its time, 'Win Bill Stein's Money' failed to draw much of an audience after the first contestant walked away with the grand prize of $48.37. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ This set was the beginning of the end of my childhood collecting. Chasing all the errors in this and the Donruss set. I thought back then there were too many sets to collect. Look at the industry now! ” -CluelessJoe

“ Funny when you see these older cards, how lousy the condition of the field is in the backgrounds.. ” -wamk

“ Ooo back to my youth. When I was collecting cards I really didn't care for Fleer. They seemed borning and often had printing flaws that made the cards look blurry. ” -koloth42

“ The original Mariners unis were great! It would be great if the Mariners threw back to them soon. ” -jlaz10

“ Leaf? Je ne pas parle francais. ” -volbox

“ Hey, Leaf: Get your own design! Oh well... At least this one has the Jay's colours in it. ” -DanD

“ There's a mask from my childhood! He played some pretty good hockey for my Leafs, but I think of him more as a Blackhawk. ” -DanD

“ Shows you how much less conservative goalies have gotten while decorating their masks ” -Hollywood42
