I check the Herschel Walker page every day to see if new card spaces have been added to his page. Today I see a space for 1990 and '91 MVP pins. I have the '90 pin in original unopened packaging. These are 3 dimensional pins, which I would think to be difficult to scan. A card was included with the pin in original packaging, which looks to be a 1990 Score 100 hottest card. Are these pins to be scanned and uploaded? I wanted to check before I did anything. Banny

Were the pins made or distributed by Score, or did the pin manufacturer just happen to include a Score card with the pins?
We list the '94 Action Packed pins because they were made by a major card manufacturer. If the pins were an insert in a trading card product, that would qualify them as well.
On the other hand, we do not list die cast toy cars made by Hot Wheels or Racing Champions (or even Johnny Lightning) just because they had a trading card included in the package. We just list list the cards, although in these examples the cards were made for the purpose of inclusion with these particular cars. There are other examples where an otherwise pack-inserted card was included with a die cast car. These cards do not get a second listing.
So (if the pins were not made by a card manufacturer), was the pin included with the card, or was the card included with the pin?

The answer is NO. They do not belong here. These are the equivalent of the Kenner Starting Lineup figures (and all the other examples Tom gave).
I have entered IRs to get the two sets removed.

Thanks Dan. That's why I checked first.

I also e-mailed the member who added the sets and uploaded the checklists. Hopefully they understand the intent behind it and don't become upset with me. I send out messages like that to inform, not to berate.

So the cards are acceptable but the pins are not.

The Ace pin I have of Nolan Ryan is a '91 Score card. They don't have their own product in cards.

The cards are already in the database listed by the the year and company that actually produced them; 1991 Score, 1991 Pacific, etc. The pins were produced by ACE Novelity. They put another company's cards in the package with the pins (Score, Pacific). ACE Novelity did not produce the cards. The cards are more like a repack.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
