31. 1956 Topps Flags of the World (R714-5) #13 Greece

Hellenikon Air Base
Athens, Greece
October 1981

Layover enroute to Germany.

32. 1963 Topps Flags Midgee #82 Spain

Torrejon Air Base
Madrid, Spain
October 1981

Layover enroute to Germany.

33. 1955 Topps Rails & Sails #68 Diesel Locomotive

Diesel Locomotive
Adana, Turkey
1981~1982

Not the exact locomotive, but very similar.

Me and my buddy were walking around Adana sightseeing. We found ourselves at the railyard and were taking photos of the trains. An engineer leaned out of the locomotive's window and beckoned us to come up. Once up in the cab he showed off his pride and joy. Showed us how everything worked. Then he gave each of us a turn at "driving" the train a short distance. Definitely the largest vehicle I've ever driven.

34. 1981 Topps Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders #3 Admired By Thousands

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
Incirlik Air Base
Adana, Turkey
1982

35. 1993-94 TCM Caterpillar #76 D9G Track-Type Tractor

Bulldozer
Griffiss AFB
Rome, New York
1982-1986

My Air Force secondary speciality, known as WARSKIL, was Heavy Equipment Operator.

The feeling of power is such a rush. After training there was no opportunity to use the dozer on base.

36. 1993-94 TCM Caterpillar #161 910F Wheel Loader

Payloader
Griffiss AFB
Rome, New York
1982-1986

I remember the training on the payloader. Move a big pile from one spot to another and back, then repeat.

37. 1993-94 TCM Caterpillar #194 AP-1050 Asphalt Paver

Paver and 15-ton Dump Truck
Griffiss AFB
Rome, New York
1982-1986

The second most used equipment on base. A lot of roadwork repairing after harsh winters in Upstate New York.

I wish I could find cards for the snow removal equipment. Rollover snowplows, V-wing snowplows, Snowblowers, Snowbrooms.

38. 1993-94 TCM Caterpillar #66 T50E Lift Truck

Forklifts
Griffiss AFB
Rome, New York
1982-1986

The least exciting piece of equipment.

39. 1991 Enor Pro Football HOF #1 Pro Football Hall of Fame

Pro Football Hall of Fame
Canton, Ohio
1984, 1994, 2001

My first visit was a crazy spontaneous act. While living in Upstate New York, I just decided on the spur of the moment to drive to Ohio. Me & my brother drove 8 hours through the night to be there when they opened.

Second time was with my Dad. But we weren't aware the Hall was under renovation; parts were closed off. They gave us free passes to return after the new wing was finished. The third visit was at the end of my cross country trip after retiring; to use the free passes.

40. 2011 Topps American Pie #131 Atlantic City

Atlantic City
New Jersey
1984~

Many visits, usually to a casino. We each take $100 and play until either it's gone or we're tired.

#31 jarred a memory as I remembered the .38 Special Tour with Night Ranger and had to dig out the ticket, low and behold Rainbow was the headliner when they played the IMA Sports Arena in Flint,MI....

Great list but I am pretty sure you can come up with alot more and I can't wait to see. Thanks for sharing

I'm assuming that the Saratoga performances were at SPAC? I've driven by it several times but have never actually been there. Great story on the Grand Canyon!

Cool list to go through. So much that I haven't seen or visited in here. I have seen Yankee Stadium (original) and the Biloxi Lighthouse from the highways that go right by them, but didn't get to go inside. I've been to Niagara Falls on many levels and from both sides of the border. I walked right by the Savvis Center when it was ScottTrade Center in 2013 and visited the Arch that same week (as well as Busch Stadium for a game). I would have loved to see Motley Crue and Pink Floyd in the 1980's! None of the bands/musicians I've seen are in your list. I've never been off the continent or farther south than the Gulf Coast of MS and never farther west than St. Louis, MO.

Outstanding list!  Yes that Grand Canyon tale was the best, you are an old romantic!

Fantastic list! I never even thought of a "Bands I've Seen List" for myself but now I'm inspired!

Wow Chuck.  I just saw the new additions in the middle.  I had no idea.  Kind of speechless here.

Ditto. Interesting stories about the Pentagon and Gen. Powell!

My parents are also down to only Alaska.  It's one of my six remaining.

I see you added a couple more that I've also visited. Cooperstown (in 2005 for me) and Blue Ridge Parkway. I've been to the parkway a few times but only in NC, not in VA

Fantastic list! I lived right next to the Erie canal for a couple of years in Rochester, N.Y.

I see that you added the Coors Brewery. As I'm sipping on a cold Coors Banquet now (my favorite beer for many years), I'd love to visit that one. You've been to NC but where are all the places you've visited here in this list? You have many lighthouses on the list and we have several. I know Cape Hatteras has some cards and I'm sure Biltmore Estates and the many military bases have some cards too.

EDIT: A card in this list finally showed up as one that I own. It's the meet-ups card with you & Billy.

@ spaz
The only sights I've seen/visited in NC don't have cards.  They were a diner in Boone and the real "Mayberry" & "Mount Pilot".  I've been to Asheville, but never went to the Biltmore.

The Brooklyn Bridge reminded me of our first visit to NY and it was without a GPS. We were looking for Grimaldi's Restaurant, which sits next to the bridge. My first interaction with a Brooklyn native was to ask for directions as she was unloading her groceries. She gave us directions,  but also strongly suggested I get a GPS.

Enjoyed the revisit. Got a little misty-eyed with the Grand Canyon story. Way to go on that!

I've seen the Doobie Brothers two or three times, but am jealous that you've gotten to see Elton John.

Chuck just when I thought you couldn't get any cooler I find this. I collect ticket stubs from most games, concerts or events I've been to but this was way cool. As you know ticket stubs are becoming obsolete. Great view of your history though.

Oh man, if I went through all my amateur photo albums ... yikes, what a project ... it's mostly hockey games with a smattering of other sports, Niagara Falls, Ford's Theater, San Diego aircraft carriers, Cape Kennedy, Little Hawk NC, The Who at JFK Stadium (1982), etc.  Amazing, you have John McGiver on your list ... he was a big-time TV guest star in Hollywood, but found enough time to be living in NY, too ... he was just on one of the retro channels this past Saturday in 'The Wild Wild West'.

Very cool!! Great imagination to combine life and cards. We even have some overlap. Now I want to do this, I guess I will start trading for some rock and roll cards. The meet up cards are very cool too.
