Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

One last shout out to KMack for a complete unopened set of 1999 Fleer Tradition Update. I almost left it sealed, but decided I wanted three of the cards for my PC more than leaving it unopened! Thanks, Kevin, and continued blessings to you and safety on your travels back and forth between work and home.

I'm home from my trip, and just checked my mailbox to see that C2Cigars had surprised me with a birthday card containing a couple vintage cards I needed. Thank you so much, Chuck!
Edit: And the envelope even had a cool stamp I needed for my just-getting-started stamp collection!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I also got a birthday card with a couple Mariners cards from my want list in it from C2Cigars yesterday. Thanks from me as well Chuck! It's awesome that we have members who care that much about the collecting community! My own family will either forget, or have already informed me they have other plans and won't be around for my birthday, so having a complete stranger go out of their way to wish me a happy birthday is really cool!

Which cool stamp did I use. I have a large assortment for use. Birthday cards; I usually use scratch-n-sniff Frozen Treats, Scooby Doo, or Janis Joplin.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Kari I am buying pre-1987 Non Sports. Let's discuss if you have any for sale, even if not listed here. --------------------------------------- There are no bad days.

I went to usps.com to order some more sheets. They were no longer listed. So I went to my local PO today. She had 3 sheets left and told me that in 2 weeks any unsold Janis Joplin sheets have to be returned to USPS.
