Set: 2012 Panini Absolute (Rate)

Card: #48 Aaron Rodgers

“ Wow, the football version of this set is so much better than the NBA set. This is a real photo, where the NBA set is all mirror foil with digitally altered backgrounds. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Front is just about perfection. The back would have been perfect too if they had used a different picture, instead they ruined it with the same picture. I would give the front a 10 and the back a 7, would have been a 10, if they had not been lazy with the photo. ” -davidhandberry

“ I like the card design. I don't like the artifical, digitally enhanced look of the photos. If they are actual photos. ” -C2Cigars

“ HEY RODGERS! DOUBLE CHECK! Yeah fun commercials. Oh yeah this is a card forum. Love the Absolute brand, Panini does a pretty good job with these each year. I like the Classic look this set has. I'll skip mentioning the negatives on the back (same photo the b&w cropped version, one year o'stats). Oops I mentioned some negatives Sorry folks. ” -captkirk42

“ what I always liked about absolute retail is you could easily tell the difference between retail and hobby versions, unlike just the thickness of the card like topps was doing at the time ” -Thunderfoot

“ A card I actually own as RCOTD. Doesn't happen too often I like most Absolute sets, including this one. Another winner. ” -switzr1

“ "You done messed up your knee this year, A-Aron!" ” -vanstryland

“ Another card that uses the same photograph on both sides of the card. ” -kirkscards

“ Not a bad looking card. Not great either. I'll bet you $5 that Cris Collinsworth has this card in his collection. That guy LOVES Aaron Rodgers. ” -LordKinbote

Set: 1996 Tempo The Simpsons Down Under - Promos (Rate)

Card: #4 Family on the couch

“ I need to find more of these. I only found out the set existed maybe about three years ago...I don't remember now if I saw it first here or on COMC, where I bought a different promo from the set. My all-time favorite show. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I like this card ” -switzr1

“ Iconic image. Also like that the set is right in that sweet spot of show’s popularity and the popularity of the non-sports set. ” -stevejrogers

“ Thhhhhhhhheee Siiiimmmmmmsssoooooons dododo doododoo... Ah the (non)typical American family giving us a boat load of emotions over 30some years.Ya Love 'em or ya hate 'em or you just ignore them and hope they will rot away. ” -captkirk42

“ Love the Simpsons. What a series run. I hope this is the last season though, the show seems to be losing it's "funny". The card is way cool. ” -yokonashiwa

“ Nucular. It's pronounced nucular. ” -DanD

“ Not a fan of non-sports cards but I definitely like this one. ” -davidhandberry

Set: 2018 Magic the Gathering Core Set 2019 Japanese (Rate)

Card: #272 沼

“ So ominous swamps are poison? ” -rmpaq5

“ Rather ominous scenario. I suspect a decline in status to whoever draws this card in the game. ” -Sportzcommish

“ Hmm another MTG card. The randomizer is stuck on MTG it seems. We had one yesterday. Today's card has an awful picture in my opinion. ” -captkirk42

“ I had to look up the Kanji to figure out what this picture was. It refers to a good place to toss these cards...a swamp. ” -C2Cigars

“ That's exciting ” -switzr1

Set: 1997 Magic the Gathering Portal (Rate)

Card: #NNO Capricious Sorcerer

“ It's better than ducks. Or is it? ” -switzr1

“ I don't know how many Magic cards I have reviewed but I always say the same thing. Back is boring. Front artwork looks rather rudimentary for a popular card game. I don't judge the rest because I don't know enough about Magic to judge the gameplay and writing. ” -davidhandberry

“ So this guy's on my side, but he's only shooting from two fingers. Is that why he only "deals 1 damage to any one creature or player"? ” -Sportzcommish

“ Getting real tired of these. ” -NJDevils

“ Smh ” -IndyBean17

“ A Magic The Gathering card (MTG) with artwork that is OK. ” -captkirk42

Set: 1995 Fleer Easter Cards (Rate)

Card: #3 The next day she took her young..

“ Wellllllll...this may be the worst RCOTD since the Bratz card. ” -switzr1

“ I like the message, not the card. ” -rmpaq5

“ I have no idea if this set is telling parables or what, but who doesn't love little baby ducks? ” -Billy Kingsley

“ awwwwwww thats all i got to say ” -tonym

“ Quack! ” -cjjt

“ Timeless story. Almost as timeless as Joe Carter's walk-off homer in '93. ” -DanD

“ Duck, duck, duck, duck, goose. Cute family friendly card. A Hallmark or Franklin Mint type thing only more collectible. Hmm The cards say "Fleer Holidays" and the set is listed as "Easter Cards" they all seem to be fairy tales. I wonder if there is a different name for the set? ” -captkirk42

“ Who were they marketing to? I don't know of too many 3-year olds who collect cards. ” -C2Cigars

“ What does the ugly duckling has to do with Easter? ” -kirkscards

Set: 1957 Topps (Rate)

Card: #347 Hal Naragon

“ He was only 29 years old at the time of this photo! People looked older back then... ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Favorite pre-birth (1974) Topps baseball set ever. Love the double logo cap. This card is a definite winner! ” -switzr1

“ Beautiful! ” -muskie027

“ Until today it's probably been a couple years since the last time I submitted a "Card of the Day" comment. Oddly enough it turns out that me and good ol' Hal here share the same birthday, along with HOFer Rod Carew, deserving HOFer Mark McGwire and the terrifying Randy Quiad. ” -Id8jlb8666

“ Love the backs, complete stats, narrative and a cartoon. Good contrast and a readable number. No need for photo front and back ” -NJDevils

“ I think the photography on the 1957 set is really good for the era. Though I dislike the lettering. It is difficult to read. ” -kirkscards

“ Cool a real vintage card not the Heritage version of it. Nice all around card. The back is the way sports cards should be. Even the real cardboard card stock used is the way cards should be. Interesting cap logo. I hadn't recalled seeing Chief Wahoo with the Cleveland "C" before, yet that was their cap logo from 1954-57 and revived in 1962 for a season. The 62 version was similar but had the Chief's feather over the C, it is behind it here. Very interesting. ” -captkirk42

“ I love the old cartoons they put on the back of these cards. ” -DanD

“ Classic, simplistic card design that’s missing these days (for the most part). LONG LIVE CHIEF WAHOO!!! ” -IndyBean17

“ never seen that stylized c used in an Indians logo before, the comics on back are always enjoyable ” -Thunderfoot

“ I've always liked this set. As a kid, 1957 Topps was one of the first "vintage" cards I ever purchased. ” -suomibear8

“ Awesome! ” -IfbBirdsCards

“ EPIC! ” -cjjt

“ This set has everything you could like about a set. Great photography, borders, team, position, name on front, large card numbers on the back, complete stats, write ups, and comics. Never heard of this guy however. ” -vrooomed

“ Vintage topps is vintage topps. You have to like it for it's age, not necessarily for how it looks. I love the back but the front is just pretty bland but that was and is topps to me. ” -davidhandberry

Set: 2007 Topps Moments & Milestones (Rate)

Card: #20-71 Roger Clemens

“ Here's that crazy set. I don't get it, but I know we have at least two members pursuing them, so I won't criticize it like i expect others will. The card itself does look nice. I'll say that much. ” -switzr1

“ I don't think I've seen this concept for a pitcher before, only batters. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I think the cards would have been better if they used photos from the season in question. The red Sox had blue lettering on away Jersey in 87 not red. ” -Parsons0311

“ Lee Smith just made the HOF. Yet this guy can't get in? Unbelivalbe. ” -Young Kilo

“ No. no. no. Everything about this set is just bad. I can't think of anything positive to say about it. ” -davidhandberry

“ Interesting concept for a set, but I could see collectors becoming confused and frustrated with so many cards all with the same picture. ” -dilemma19

“ Bottom half of the card is too busy. Photo looks like a file photo dug out of newspaper archives. Blah. ” -NJDevils

“ I didn't like this set at all. Way too many cards, and a lot of serial numbering with little value to them. ” -suomibear8

“ Terrible concept for a set, and equally bad execution. A waste of card stock. ” -mkaz80

“ This reminds me of the Yankee Legacy set that has thousands of cards. Challenging set to complete is an understatement! ” -Joshua825

“ Oh boy another Moments and Milestones card it seems like we just had one a week or two ago.... ah it was on 10 December when we last had one. Still don't like these cards. ” -captkirk42

Set: 1989-90 TG Racing Masters of Racing (Rate)

Card: #136 Neil Castles' Car

“ Love this set. Covers the early history of the sport better than any other. (Despite the somewhat non-sequitur nature of this writeup) I used to like this guy based solely on the fact that he had a funny nickname, and drove a car with a zero in front of the number, something I've always gravitated towards for some reason. Then I found out more about him, and let's just say I'm no longer a fan. Actually one of my least favorite people in the sport's history in fact. Became a Hollywood stuntman after leaving NASCAR and worked there well into the 1990s. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Nice racing card. I admit I laughed at the title "Soapy" on the front of the card. Now I'm wondering how he got that nickname. ” -captkirk42

“ Brrrrm brrm brrrrrrrrrrrrrm !!!! ” -YoRicha

“ I like it. Cool car photo on the front. Informative back. And his name is Soapy. What's not to like? ” -switzr1

Set: 1993-94 SkyBox - Dynamic Dunks (Rate)

Card: #D5 Shawn Kemp

“ I miss the Sonics. And to me, Shawn Kemp is THE Sonic when I think of the franchise. This card is all mirror foil so whoever scanned it got the yellow lettering to show pretty well. I don't think I have this particular card but I have others from this insert and I know they are not easy to scan. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I do not remember this set at all, and I was collecting basketball cards big-time in 1993. ” -switzr1

“ The Reign Man ” -Young Kilo

“ Lol, awful. It looks like you are supposed to collect 9 cards and put them together to make a puzzle pic. I have the head, now I need the legs, the court, and the rest of the pic! ” -muskie027

“ This could be the worst picture I have seen on a sports card. This needed to be a vertical card so you can see the legs and be impressed with the dunk. I would give the front a 0, the back a 0. SkyBox should send apology letters to anyone that got this card and be begging the great Shawn Kemp for forgiveness. ” -davidhandberry

“ Dunks was one of the reasons I strayed away from Basketball around the late 1970s early 80s just as greats like Michael Jordan were about to begin their careers. It is a part of the game I grew tired of as it became "the thing" to do in the game. To be honest this card looks like two backs, or that the front should be part of a puzzle. ” -captkirk42

“ The card is.... ummmm.... not very attractive, but at least it has a huge D. ” -LordKinbote

“ B-o-r-i-n-g ” -NJDevils

“ Not bad, I think that the photo on the back would have been more suited to the front--you know the actual finish of the dunk rather than in the air. But that's just me ” -rmitchell6700

Set: 2000 VAQ - Voitures Anciennes du Québec (Rate)

Card: #659 Chevrolet Corvette Z-78 1978

“ Cet ensemble est énorme! Beaucoup de muscle cars ici! Vive la voiture québécoise! ” -rmpaq5

“ An 831 card car set!! How am I just finding out this exists now, when it comes up as Card of the Day? I want all of them. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ For the early 90's, not much to complain about here. Pretty nice stickers. ” -norgeva

“ I'll take one of those. The car though, not the card. ” -chvlDm

“ Now that's a set! Over 800 classic cars, each with the owner's name and phone number. I wonder if these were distributed at shows... ” -dilemma19

“ Very nice change of pace. Great looking car/d ” -NJDevils

“ Looks like the Batmobile with accents ” -IfbBirdsCards

“ Cool Car Card Non-Sport. ” -captkirk42

“ Card is so-so. When Chevrolet introduced the Mako Shark II body in 1968, my love affair with the Corvette was over. ” -C2Cigars

“ French Canadian Automobile Card. Now that is a little more obscure than recent cards of the day. ” -kirkscards

“ Oh yeah, this is a winner with me. Going to add this whole set to my waitlist, based only on seeing this one card. Also, this set is HUGE if this is card 659!!! ” -switzr1
